Another silly Jacob question...

I start a RA with Jacob and play Obedience of Noah to choose the blocker.  I pick a guy from my territory who's #s are bigger than mine.  I then play Abraham's Servant to Ur.  Does this negate my OoN, kick my guy out and let my opponent stick in a guy?  The only reason I ask is because choose the block is an instant ability and I didn't know if, because it has already completed, if AStU would negate it.

Jacob - Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Blue • Ability: 6 / 5 • Class: None • Special Ability: May band to a silver brigade Hero, or you may play a Genesis Enhancement. • Identifiers: OT Male Human, Patriarch • Verse: Genesis 32:24 • Availability: Faith of Fathers (Set 4)

Obedience of Noah - Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Blue • Ability: 3 / 2 • Class: None • Special Ability: Holder may choose the Evil Character that his opponent uses to block his rescue attempt. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Genesis 6:22 • Availability: D Deck (L) and D Deck (UL)

Abraham’s Servant to Ur - Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Blue • Ability: 2 / 3 • Class: None • Special Ability: All special abilities except banding on characters and enhancements, except this one, are negated. Battle is determined by the numbers. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Genesis 24:9-10 • Availability: Patriarchs booster packs (Rare)

Yep, it would negate everything and go back to the point as if you never played anything. So it would be a fbtn, you would be 11/10 and your opponent gets to block.

FBTN EXCEPT banding...that doesn't help much.   :-[

REG, Choose Blocker or Rescuer, Special Conditions:
"If a “choose opponent” card like Ehud is negated, the character chosen by the holder is returned to the place it came from and your opponent chooses the blocker."

Also, there's nothing stopping instant abilities from being negated. Otherwise a simple capture card like Net couldn't be negated!

Hmmm...I hadn't looked at it like that.  Isn't there something like instant abilities that have already been completed not be interrupted by an ITB?  Like if I have two guys in battle, my opponent say captures one, still has inish, then tries to capture the other, if I played an interrupt at that point, it would only interrupt the second capture because the first is already complete?

They can't be interrupted... but they can be negated. I can't play achin's sin to negate gabriel... but I can use King of Tyrus. See the difference?

I am on a role with these ruling questions!  :D

There's a distinction between a regular interrupt/negate like on Sign of the Rainbow or Abraham's Servant to Ur, and an "interrupt the battle." Interrupt the battle interrupts the following:
-> All ongoing abilities (immunity, etc.)
-> The last ability played by an opponent's character if it's removing you from battle (King Zimri, etc.)
-> The last enhancement card played by an opponent (most anything)

Also keep in mind that different negates have different wording. For instance, look at the two versions of Flaming Sword:
Warriors: "The effect of the last Enhancement Card played is interrupted and prevented."
Kings: "Negate one evil enhancement played in current battle."

In your "two captures" example, the Warriors version can only target the most recent capture, while the Kings version can negate any capture (with proper assumptions about characters remaining in battle, etc.).

Just to clarify, Gabriel can be interrupted, but Achan's Sin ("interrupt the battle") does not interrupt instant character abilities that aren't removing them from battle. If there were a card, "Interrupt all character abilities and search your deck for any card," then you could search for the card Gabriel discarded (and then Gabriel kicks back in). King of Tyrus targets all character abilities, which is why he negates Gabriel.
