ANB (gasp!) Question

1. When ANB gets played if the thorns LS is in play and active, would the LSs be shuffled?

2. Also if my opponent had Jerusalem Tower active when it was played would they get to draw their 8?

2.b. If my opponent plays Mayhem while I have JT active do I get to D6?

A New Beginning - Errata: If making a rescue attempt, remove this card from the game to shuffle all cards in play, set aside areas, and hands. If no Heroes remain in battle, end the battle, all players draw 8, and you begin a new turn.

Jerusalem Tower - No opponent may remove a card from holder's draw pile. Draw pile may still be searched and/or shuffled.

Thorns LS - While this card is in play, protect each Lost Soul in play from being shuffled, placed under draw pile, or exchanged.
Just one more thing...

To expand on 2, A New Beginning ends the phase and the turn before having all players draw 8 so any lingering ongoing abilities would have ended prior to the new turn starting.

If you had Thorns LS AND Pigs LS, however, then no one would get to draw as the LS would still be there providing its ability.

Not necessarily true.  It may be a new turn at the end, but it is still ANB's effect causing the draw and the new turn.

I dispute 2 and 3, just because we need to have it defined in the actual rules.  I'm not talking about statements from Elders that give a result but not the rule (which happened more than once).  I'm talking about explaining how drawing is not considered removing a card from deck:

Quote from: The REG
A draw ability moves the targeted card from the top of a player's deck to that player's hand
All draw abilities are instantaneous. A draw ability targets the cards on top of a player's deck

When we also consider how the holder of the ability determines who is 'doing' an ability (Revealer ruling, Goliath vs Wall ruling, Set Fire ruling, etc. etc. etc.), it does not follow through the rules how draw abilities controlled by an opponent are not considered an opponent removing a card from the protected deck.

I am not saying the status quo needs to change (in fact that would destroy this card as being viable).  It is just not supported by the rules, and it would be good to have that consistency.
