Part of Ananias' ability states: Protect Paul from opponents' cards while he is in territory.
But how can Ananias do that if he is NOT territorial?
Does it only work when Ananias is in battle?
-
I believe that when ananias enters battle the first time he activates which creates an ongoing protect for Paul while Paul is in territory.

Which for whatever reason only lasts until Paul leaves territory for the first time

Because the specified duration is until Paul leaves territory.

How can the protection be "ongoing" if Ananias is NOT territorial.
Ananias' special ability would only work while he is in battle.
???

Abilities on non-TC characters only activate when they enter battle, but they can remain active after they leave battle if it specifies a duration.

The same way Judas Iscariot’s on-going protection from discard and conversion after enter battle and if he survives battle. It’s an on-going protect ability even when he’s not in battle (based upon the wording of his SA).
