Okay I know this question is probably very redundant, but here is the scenario: I draw Covenant of Prayer, place it in my artifact pile.  1) Can I activate it that turn? 2) If I do activate it, can I banish it that turn also to search my reserve, or must I wait a turn?

It's no different than any other artifact in that scenario so yes.

Thanks just wanted to make sure the activation and banishing could be done in the same turn.
