who's raiding?

So I have four evil characters against Gideon with dragon raid. I have a single lost soul in a site. He plays ambushing the city to start a new battle with Aaron and Moses. Do they have site access from dragon raid? I think dragon raid got set aside with gideon and isn't giving access.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and all your strength.

*cough*Post abilities*cough*

Ambush the City - If making a rescue attempt, set all cards in battle aside (regardless of immunity). Holder may begin a new rescue attempt against same player. Once new rescue attempt is completed, the original battle resumes as a battle challenge. Cannot be negated.

In order for Dragon raid to give access it has to be placed in battle. When Gideon plays Ambush, DR gets set aside with everything else and no longer provides access.

I know abilities on multicolor sites are only active in battle, but since DR was not negated and Aaron and Moses are both human, LSs are still negated, yes?

Dragon Raid - While a human Hero is in battle, negate Lost Souls.

As a secondary question to this, since Dragon Raid was set aside but not negated would it still be negating Lost Souls in the second battle (since Moses and Aaron are human Heroes)? Or does the brief period where no human Hero is in battle after the set aside and before the new battle starts cause it to turn off and then it cannot turn back on as it's set aside?

In the REG glossary under Site it says,
Quote
...special abilities on multi-color sites are active only while they are in battle.

I believe that means that Dragon Raid isn't active if it's not in battle, like when it's in the set aside area.

So ongoing abilities on multi-color sites have a special condition, gotcha. Thanks Gabe!

To expound on this, the phrase "in battle" only refers to the 'current battle' and not any others that may start.  I don't believe that they stay active during the Battle Phase of any side battles, due to the current wording.

What's the current ruling for when you can put sites into (or out of)  battle? Once a site enters battle can you take it back out? If so, can you put it back in? The question that relates to this is, could I take DR out, play Ambush the City, and then put DR back in after attacking with Aaron and Moses?

I think you can put a site from your territory into battle at any point.  Or at any point you could play a dominant, if you want to be picky.

I don't think you can choose to remove a site from battle, but it's not something I've ever seen a ruling on.

Unless the rule has changed you can add your site to battle at anytime as Aggie said. Whether you can take a site out (or add it to the field of battle a second time in the same phase) I don't know; I don't think anyone has ever asked.

You cannot choose to remove a Site from battle once added. As far as I know Sites are not unique (otherwise the Gates of Samaria theme wouldn't work nearly as well) so I would imagine they follow the same rule as generic characters: if a Site is removed from battle by a special ability I see no reason you couldn't add it back into the same battle.
