I've been told you cannot negate it with a FbtN hero, but I don't know about an enhancement.

It's extremely messy, but it is possible to Negate CSA during a side-battle.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

It's extremely messy, but it is possible to Negate CSA during a side-battle.

So what happens if it gets negated.  Say I choose your attacking hero and make him attack a larger hero.  You have int. and play Holy Ground "Negate and Discard evil enhancement."  What happens?  Does the side battle just "not happen" or does that resolve but nobody is discarded because it was negated, or does it do nothing?

Yes, it would negate CSA, and SA's happening in the side battle would also be negated (since it never happened).  (Ok, not technically negated, but it's like they didn't happen)

Come to think about it, i don't think it would matter since the battle is over and the enhancements would be I'm the discard pile anyways...which means they can't be targeted

Instant Special Abilities > Fight Each Other
Special Conditions

•      Unless the card says otherwise, you do not have to choose your opponent’s character to fight the challenging character.  For example, you may choose two other characters to fight each other with the intent of removing one from the game to aid you in later rescue attempts.

•      A “by the numbers” card played in any battle causes all existing battles to be played by the numbers.  A “by the numbers” ability will usually negate the special ability that caused the side battle.

•      Characters forced to fight each other cannot band to characters already in battle.  If two characters are banded together and one is forced into a side battle, the other doesn’t automatically jump to the side battle as well.

•      If the special ability that caused the side battle is negated during any battle, the consequences of the side battle are undone.  However, if the negate card specifies last enhancement in battle, it would not negate the card that caused the side battle.

•      Immunity and ignore special abilities protect the characters with these special abilities from being forced to fight.

•      If two Heroes are forced to fight each other and this battle ends in a mutual destruction, a Hero about to be discarded can be healed and return to territory (see Side Battles).  Heroes not healed are discarded.

•      Playing Death of Unrighteous (Pa) in a side battle between two Evil Characters can only be interrupted by the opposing player’s Evil Character in the side battle.  The Evil Character on whom the card was played cannot interrupt his own removal from battle.  The Hero in the original battle never gains initiative and cannot interrupt Death of Unrighteous (Pa).

•      Wall of Protection (Ap) prevents characters from being selected to fight in a side battle unless Wall of Protection (Ap) itself is prevented.

•      If Achan’s Sin (Pa) is played in a side battle between Evil Characters, the opposing player’s Evil Character gets a chance to negate Achan’s Sin (Pa).  However, Achan’s Sin (Pa) only removes characters from the side battle.  The Hero in the original battle can do nothing.

•      If Three Nails (Ap) is active, Cup of Wrath (Pr) can be played to force your opponent’s Evil Character to fight one of his own demons because the demon would not be blocking a rescue attempt.

Emphasis mine, It would to me be like negating a draw, things go back to where they were before the side battle took place, unless it was a dominant or a CBN card.  Those would have to stick because of Commandment #3.
