Persian Prez - "Was Set Aside"

Persian Presidents can target a character that "was set aside."

Is "was set aside" an identifier that a character gains, or just a "state of being" like a "once per game" ability? I obviously want to know whether a character returned to draw pile would still qualify as having been set aside earlier in the game. This is not a trick question or a set up. I am not aware of any loophole this would cause with other cards. I was just curious.

This thread appears to indicate that it resets completely, and can't be captured. It's like half a year old though, and I'm not sure if anything has changed since then.

So this was Maly's decision alone, or was there a private discussion?

Now I am curious what other cards would be affected by such a ruling. Angel at the Tomb says "If your Son of God was discarded without making a rescue.." Would SoG "completely reset" to just being in the discard pile, rather than "was discarded without making a rescue?" Or does this ruling only apply to characters?

So, officially, is the statement "was ____" a gained identifier for characters that completely resets in draw and discard pile?

YMT, I'll see what I can dig up as far as discussions between the Elders - But currently I am inclined to believe that the 'set aside' status resets in deck. Similar to how a converted character becomes un-converted when shuffled.

Angel at the Tomb, I would think, would be a different case, I would say "was discarded without making a rescue" meaning something like:
"When your Son of God was put in the discard pile this time and if it did not rescue a Lost Soul shuffle it back into your deck"

And Persian Presidents would say "Was Set Aside" would reset in deck (if only because its impossible to keep track of in T2 when you have multiple copies)
If you are reading this signature, thank a physicist.
