does holy of holies negate all of philly priest's ability to negate and deactivate an OT artiface or can he still deactivate an OT artifact when HoH is up?

Philistine Priests
Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Black • Ability: 5 / 5 • Class: None • Special Ability: You may search draw pile for Temple of Dagon and put it in play. If another Philistine Evil Character is in play, you may negate and deactivate one O.T. Artifact in play

Holy of Holies
Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Prevent all interrupt, prevent, and negate abilities on Characters. Cannot be negated during the battle phase.

"Negating" an artifact and "Deactivating" an artifact are 2 different special abilities.  Therefore, it seems like HoH would be able to cancel the first without canceling the second.

Im still under the impression that A Negate should negate an entire card it targets...  :-\ I think negating just parts of cards could end up being a messy situation down the road as more complicated abilities are released.

I agree that a negate should negate an entire ability it targets, but not an entire card with multiple abilities. I think it would be really odd for Wasting Disease to prevent Jacob from banding to an Angel.

Right so, PPriests should search, not deactivate or negate.

Not quite a ghost...but not quite not.
