I have a few questions on judges.
Is swithced with something in your discard pile the same as discarded?
What does Samson (promo) do?
Can you bring a charactor that you switched out of battle back into battle?
Thanks!

1. Yes.
2. Samson (P)
Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Yellow • Ability: 12 / 6 • Class: None • Special Ability: All good gold enhancements without special abilities double in value unless a female Evil Character is in battle. • Identifiers: Male Human, Judge, Fought Earthly Battle • Verse: None • Availability: Promotional cards (2002 Local Tournament)

3. It depends. Unique characters may only enter battle once per turn. Generic characters may enter battle any number of times per turn.

I was thinking about Angel Under the Oak.

AUtO is a unique character, and thus the answer should be no once it hits territory. I believe that a recent post clarified that unique characters cannot enter battle twice in one turn even if they hit deck, but I have to look again...
As far as point #1, if I remember correctly it is not discarded in a way that would trigger Chamber, since that is an instead and then he can't bring someone back from discard.
Please correct me if I'm off-base :) *goes off to find that thread about unique-verses-generic*

I'm actually relatively certain it was ruled that using Oak Angel to exchange for Sam is not considered a discard.
In regards to your third question, unique characters, once they've entered battle, cannot reenter battle that turn (unless a band gets negated, in which case, it's as if they were never in battle to begin with). Generic characters, however, can reenter battle, provided they hit the deck first.

That's what I was trying to get to. I knew that it did not activate CoA, at the very least.
And on the other point, everything I've found indicates that a unique character does not reset upon hitting deck, and cannot enter battle again in the same turn.

To expound further, I don't think Generic characters even need to hit deck anymore.
-
According to the REG, it's considered discarded only if it ends up on top of the discard pile. However, Chamber would then instead the discard. I'm not sure if this sends Sam back to discard pile.

I haven't heard anything about this. Do you have a link or anything?

They don't, per this thread (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/redemption-official-rules/rule-changesclarifications-for-2011-2012-tournament-season/) from Gabe.
The relevant part:
Change to Banding generic Characters
The restriction upon entering battle multiple times per turn is only limited to unique characters. Generic characters can enter battle more than once per turn.
