Title: A Couple Questions About Foretelling Angel
Post by: ChristianSoldier on June 11, 2018, 02:47:08 AM
I just want to make sure I've been playing Foretelling Angel correctly (I probably should have asked this before the tournament we just had, but I didn't think of it until now)

1) If I have Foretelling Angel out while my opponent has the Dull Lost Soul in play and I go into battle will the Dull Lost Soul Trigger a) immediately b) if the top card of the deck changes c) if the ability reactivates by some means or d) not at all.

2) If I attack with Gabriel (Kings) while I have the Foretelling Angel in my territory, can I search my deck for an evil enhancement and then fail to discard it because my deck is protected from discard but not search, or can I not even do the search because I can't discard an evil enhancement?

Foretelling Angel
Special Ability: Protect deck from discard. Play with top card of deck face up: While it's a Daniel card, Daniel characters cannot be negated. If it's a Daniel card, you may add it to hand. Cannot be negated.
Play As: Protect cards in deck from discard. Reveal the top card of deck while this ability is active: While it is a Daniel card, Daniel characters cannot be negated. If it is a Daniel card, you may take it. Cannot be negated.

"Dull" Lost Soul
During battle, if opponent uses a good special ability to look, reveal or search, you may search your deck for an Evil Character or evil Enhancement.

Gabriel (Kings)
Special Ability: Holder may search any draw pile for one evil enhancement and discard it. Shuffle draw pile.
Play As: You may discard an evil Enhancement from a deck.

I think Dull will only trigger if a new card is revealed by Fortelling Angel during battle. It wouldn’t hurt to get a second elder’s opinion on that.

You can choose to fail a search even if legal targets exist. Gabriel works to shuffle your own deck.

Because your deck is protected, the searched card would just stay in the deck and get shuffled. - right? (if you choose not to "fail to find.")

also, (i am mobile atm) where in the REG does it say you can "fail to find" even if legal targets exist?

^^Correct. That’s found in the Search entry and only applies to searches.

I would agree with this. The current top card was already revealed prior to battle so it would not trigger Dull.
