Might make things simpler

As someone who has played 4 different card games and thought every single one of them paled in comparison to Redemption, I have something I think would help make easier rulings, and it's this simple:

Stop letting us decide so much. There are still so many rulings I still don't know because every time they're brought up, they get discussed to death and then a month later, someone asks and instead of posting the answer on the last thread, it gets discusses again, every now and then even changed. This makes it impossibly hard to keep track of rulings.

Now I love how Redemption talks to its community (yugioh just makes a new ban list without anyone knowing until the day of). But sometimes I feel Rob and the playtesters need to make a decision and not care what we think. Obviously some things need to be considered; but when it's an obvious split on what "we want," for a ruling, just make a decision and carve it in stone.

I don't know, this just seems like something that would help out the game.

I'm thinking about stickying this thread as the lone example of a player saying the elders listen to what they say.  ;)

I'd be in agreement if Nobody didn't have so much influence (for whatever reason) among the elders.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Obviously the elders would have to figure something out, and I'm not saying they should never ask us, I love that about Redemption. But I think there needs to be some more hard lines.

Schaef, haha it's true. No other game even comes close to what you guys do as to listening to your players. Although if you weren't such a tyrannical big meanie we might say it more often.  ;)

To the contrary, I listen to every single idea that comes up.  It's not my fault you're wrong.  ;)

Another useful function for the wiki.  Either that, or forum archives.

As long as the wiki correctly describes how the game is played or how certain cards work (i.e. is updated to reflect ruling changes), things should flow nicely and logically from that.

the key part is updating it, which requires a lot of time and knowledge

I agree that sometimes rulings have to be made, even if the majority of the players don't agree, its not like Redemption is a democracy (and if it was I think the game would be much worse for it)  Someone has to make rules, and its a privilege to be able to discuss as much as we do (it kind of is replacing the paid staff of a major card game like MTG or Yu-Gi-Oh) and we, as non playtesting players, should be happy we are involved as much as we are already.

Huzzah!  Redemption allows us to complain more!  Take that, "MTG-is-better" naysayers.

This is the only thing I think MTG is better than us in. ;)
