I did a quick readthrough of the new rulebook, and I admire the extent they were able to simplify things for new players. I also can't find the "extended rulebook", as you noted, but if it's as well-written as this, that should help.Kudos to the writers and editors of the beginner rulebook!One thing that did strike me as strange - perhaps I've just always played this wrong:"Mutual Destruction by NumbersBoth characters in battle are being defeated because of numbers only. You have initiative and can play a good enhancement of matching brigade. If you choose not to play a card, you must pass initiative to your opponent. Your opponent may play an enhancement. If your opponent chooses not to play a card, he must pass initiative back to you. If your opponent passes initiative back to you, then you must play an enhancement or the Battle Phase resolves."I had always though that if you both pass in a row, you go right to Battle Resolution. And I've been playing for over 15 years!(Minor nitpicks... why is every number written like "eight (8)"? Why so many uses of "Hero(es)" and "Evil Character(s)"? Makes things a little harder to read quickly. Still very good overall.
