Title: 4D Coin
Post by: RTSmaniac on December 14, 2012, 12:03:54 PM
OK- cant find thread...and reg is still down  :-[

Why cant I activate 4D Coin and at anytime discard it if Peter is in play? ex. during opponents turn?

Four-Drachma Coin

Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Protect the cards in your hand and deck from discard abilities on opponents' cards. At any time, if Peter is in play, you may discard this card to draw 4.

I would think if it was activated on your previous turn then you could discard it on your opponents turn

I don't think you should be able to activate it though.

Just my opinion though idk the ruling for sure

And here I thought you found some coin that travels through time!  ;)

"At any time" should follow the precedent set by GoH, which I honestly am not sure about.  Of course as jbeers says, activation of the card cannot occur at any time.

I'm sure he just meant "use" rather than "activate." I don't see any reason why you cannot use it on your opponent's turn, much like Unknown Nation.

You can most certainly use the discard portion of it on your opponent's turn, your turn, and anytime except for the completion of an instant ability, just like GoH. Obviously you have to activate it on your turn, but if it's active, you can discard it whenever, for example if your opponent puts down Peter in his prep phase.
