Title: 3 questions
Post by: sepjazzwarrior on March 25, 2012, 02:44:54 PM
1. Can I make a rescue attempt with a hero sitting in Judge's seat?

2a.  Can I add/remove a disciple from fishing boat before battle?
2b.  Can I add/remove a disciple from fishing boat after battle?
2c.  Can I add/remove a disciple from fishing boat multiple times before/after battle?

3.  If I have Wheel within a Wheel on AUTO and I exchange AUTO with a judge in my deck, would Wheel within a Wheel get shuffled into my deck as well?

1. You can't start a battle with a Judge in Judge's Seat, but you can band one in.
2. Disciples can be added and removed from Fishing Boat multiple times during prep phase only. They can't be added or removed during the discard phase.
3. Yes.

For 1 and 2, you can exchange eligible characters as much as you want (as permitted by the card) with fortresses during your prep phase.  Unless there are specific conditions that let them leave during other phases (like Tower of Thebez), they stay there until your next prep phase.

As Chronic said though, you may band from a fortress in your territory (unless the card says otherwise).

Placed cards like WWW follow the character they are placed on wherever they go (hand, deck, discard).  I believe they are discarded when a character is captured, but hopefully someone can confirm or deny that with more certainty :)

Placed cards are not discarded, that's weapons.

I knew it was for weapons, but could not remember what happened to place cards.  I did not see anything that stated they follow, but of course I'm half-blind.  Do you know where this is?

The burden of proof is on saying they are discarded. No rule indicates that they would be discarded.

I would actually disagree with this. The only real precedent we have had for this is weapon class enhancements, which are discarded. I agree completely that placed cards (other than weapon class) stick to a captured character, however, I think the burden of proof does lie with our side.

Possessed.

But the burden of proof still does not lay with our position. Weapons are different than placed cards, it's like saying if you have two of a unique Hero and one is Discarded, prove that you DON'T have to Discard one Enhancement when you play two of the same one in battle.

...I'm not trying to argue  :o  I'm not looking for the "burden of proof" just where the rules are to describe what happens to these cards.  Or rulings in the past.  Having a hard time finding them, and was looking for some help is all.

There isn't a bottom-up rule. Placed cards stay on and follow their hosts. There is no rule that makes an exception for capture.

There was a discussion about changing this to be the same as for Weapons, but it was never resolved or announced. So until such a decision is made, Pol is correct.

I could have sworn this was different two years ago regarding someone putting Destructive Sin on a hero in your territory and then it got captured...I thought Destructive Sin was discarded...

Edit: I see I used DS the last time this conversation came up...still not quite understanding the rationale for it though...is it because the Hero became a Lost soul and a hero must still be targetable by DS in order for the forts/covenants to be negated?
