Go Into Captivity
s/a If your warrior class Evil Character is in battle, you may discard this card to capture a Hero.


If a Crimson WC EC blocks and plays GIC as an enhancement, can it be interrupted even thought it is in the discard pile?
Now that we're a family, I can be the ulll-timate DAD.

I'm pretty sure it can still be interrupted since part of the condition of the ability is to discard itself. Interrupt temporarily suspends Going Into Captivity. Whatever is interrupting basically is inserting itself before GIC. It would of been better to use as an artifact, but your opponent would of been expecting.  Hope it helps.

Ugh, this is always confusing. GIC is now in the discard, but I believe a "negate the last enhancement played" can negate it. However, a "interrupt the battle and blah blah" can't, or something like that.

Wait for someone smarter than me to answer :(

You can negate it with anything except cards that target only enhancements in.  if you interrupt the battle you can still negate it because it interupts the last ee played in battle.

Agreed.  When your being captured, discarded, etc, you always have the chance to interrupt, unless it is something that cannot be negated.

From what I understand in this complex game of redemption, that by interrupting the battle you are interrupting the effect of enhancements, hero and ecs special abilities, etc.

Actually Going Into Captivity will still be in battle because it's being interrupted so it hasn't resolved yet. Whatever is interrupting the battle must resolve 1st before you can figure out what to do with GIC.

ITB interrupts 3 things.
A Last enhancement played by your opp
B Ongoing abilities
C Any ability causing you to lose the battle.

Actually Going Into Captivity will still be in battle because it's being interrupted so it hasn't resolved yet. Whatever is interrupting the battle must resolve 1st before you can figure out what to do with GIC.

Techinically your both slightly off. GOIC activates and is discarded, it doesn't hang around for anything.  The interrupt the battle interrupts the last enhnacment played in battle. So you can negate it with and Interrupt the battle.

"How to Use
An interrupt or negate card must be played during the Battle Phase.  Interrupt cards can only be played if the player has initiative.  Initiative may be passed back to you if the character(s) being discarded, captured, or placed back in your hand put you in a situation where you are not winning.  An interrupt cannot undo a prevent command if the prevent is preventing the interrupt.

Interrupt the battle’ interrupts all active ongoing abilities on characters and enhancements (e.g. Red Dragon), abilities that are causing you to lose the battle by removal (e.g. King Zimri), as well as the last enhancement played in the current battle if it was played by your opponent.  Interrupting the battle interrupts the battle flow at the point where you played the interrupt.  It does not send you back to the beginning of the battle and does not include special abilities completed prior to the interrupt being played that are no longer pending.

In most cases, an interrupt special ability must be played on a character being removed from battle, leaving no character in battle.  Play the interrupt card on the character being removed from battle prior to physically removing the character.  If an interrupt card cannot be played, the cards targeted for removal from battle are then physically removed.

Here is how to RESOLVE the timing issues associated with interrupt, prevent and negate cards as they are played.  Put these cards in a stack (mentally if not physically) in the order they are played.  The last card (top card) on the stack gets resolved first.  For example, if I play card A, then you interrupt with card B, then I interrupt with card C, we resolve the actions in a ‘last on, first off’ manner.  So card C’s actions are first, which in the above case would eliminate card B, so card A would be the last one standing and take effect. "

Hey,

Can you interrupt Joseph in Prison?  Yes.  Joseph in Prison similarly removes itself from battle, but you can still interrupt it.  By the same token you can interrupt Go Into Captivity.
