1. if a character holding a weapon is discarded and then is healed, does he retain the weapon?

2. when ark of the covenant discards a character after battle, does it discard them after they have returned to territory and can be protected by a fortress like assyrian camp, or are they discarded while they are still in the field of battle?

1. They keep the weapon
2. During battle resolution, so they still would not be protected.
