so if you do a texp gomer to band to your opponent's, it would bring it in battle but then you choos which one to discard when it enters?

No, you would not be able to target the opponent's Gomer for banding. Unique characters in more than one territory are protected (or is it just untargetable? I'm not sure) from being brought into a battle with another version of themselves.

Last I checked, Gomer wasn't male, so she couldn't band to herself anyway
