...but I thought I'd ask,

If you choose YOUR hero to be attacking your evil PRIEST can you use The Silver Trumpets to return YOUR hero to your hand?

The Silver Trumpets (Pi)

Hero from your territory into battle or interrupt the battle and return your Heroes in battle to hand. Hero from your territory or interrupt the battle, withdraw your Heroes, and return them to hand. May be used twice. • Identifiers: OT, Tabernacle Item, Temple Item • Verse: Numbers 10:2

And would you be able to add your O.T. hero to the battle, for their side?

So you chose your blocker to be an evil priest you own?  No you could not return it to your hand because that priest would not be "yours" in battle because your opponent would control it.

You certainly can't withdraw them, because they're not "your Heroes" - cards that are "yours" are those that you both own and control. When your opponent has them on his side of the battle, you're not controlling them.

I'm not sure about the banding. I'm fairly certain that you can only band to your side of the battle (otherwise it's "choose opponent"), but I can't find REG support for that at the moment. Plus, Siege and The Second Seal go against that. So I'm not sure.

I was saying that I would choose the rescuer with my evil priest. But yeah, I see what you're saying. Thanks.

I'm still curious about the banding though...

Wow,  that would be fun to watch your opponents expression when you pull that one on him.

The only way you can legally add cards to your opponent's side of the battle is with CtB/CtR cards. The Silver Trumpets is not one of them, so you can't do it.
