set aside init

When an EE sets aside all cards in battle, I assume the hero has init?
If so, can you use silver trumpets to add another hero to battle for an auto win?

Yes, by virtue of stalemate.
You can add another hero, but it would also be set aside.

Dosn't the EE reactivate once the hero is placed in battle

I would say that Nebbey's Pride only targets the Characters curently in battle. So yes it would work. And if I'm wrong or there's contriversy on how it works here's the card for ya.

The Silver Trumpets (Pi)
Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: When your Priest has initiative during a rescue attempt, you may band a human O.T. Hero from your territory into battle or interrupt the battle and return your Heroes in battle to hand. May be used twice. • Play As: When your Priest has initiative during a rescue attempt, you may band a human O.T. Hero from your territory or interrupt the battle, withdraw your Heroes, and return them to hand. May be used twice. • Identifiers: OT, Tabernacle Item, Temple Item • Verse: Numbers 10:2 • Availability: Priests booster packs (Rare)

Filling my Ark since Nats 2016.

Since the band ability doesn't interrupt, all your characters in battle would be set aside.  After set aside "your priest" no longer is in battle to have initiative, so you can't use it at all at that point.
Life is what you make of it.

+1 with Kor. You have initiative via removal, you can only play an interrupt (so you could use your art to withdraw, but not band).

I also agree with Kor.

As to your Meal in Emmaus question, I believe the battle is no longer interrupted as soon as you flip over the artifact. Ongoing artifact effects would start working, but triggers (like Trumpets) would still have to wait as usual.

I agree with sauce, however, the wording on Meal in Emmaus does allow the new Artifact to take place under the umbrella of the interrupt (assuming I remember correct and the SA is worded "itb and activate a new Artifact.").
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I don't believe so.  Silver Trumpets is still a trigger.  Since it is under the "umbrella of interrupt" you aren't being set-aside until the interrupt is completed.  Thus, your priest does not have initiative to add another hero to battle.
Gates of Hell is by far the best card in the game.  No questions asked.
