*sigh* The Gates of Hell

This has been hashed out before but I would like some additional confirmation(because my ruling was called into question) so here goes.  The Gates of Hell Cannot be used to add a Demon to the defense of any battle where you are not defending.  Not in MP and certainly not in 2p, right?
In AMERICA!!

Correct. It, under no circumstances, can block for your opponent.

Because they said so awhile ago. It's not a CTB card, and you cannot force an opponent to block if it's not CTB.

Except you can use it to add a demon to your teammate's block in TEAMS, right :)

Yes, on your side of the battle. The question is about using GoH to add EC's to battles you're not involved in or the blocking side of your attack, which can't happen by game rule. You can use GoH to add a demon to your side of a battle any time you like.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I don't think you can, since your block is separate from your Teammate's. Your Teammate can use you GoH though, since Forts are shared.

What if your opponent has already chosen to block?

Nope. You're still forcing them to use something without a CTB card.

I'd appreciate hearing some ramifications of ruling that that either player on a team blocking would be considered "your block" (since you decide together who will do it).  Would this cause problems?

I'm not sure you're asking the right question.  The first thing to determine is whether your proposal is consistent within the teams rules.  I find the teams rules to be confusing so I don't know the answer to that question but I feel like that's the starting point since the ruling isn't about an individual card but the system as a whole.

I agree, but what I failed to mention is that my leaning would be to rule that when your teammate blocks, it is also "your block" since you are a team.  That seemed consistent to me, but I didn't want to rule that way without first considering if that would break something.  Since it seems to be a "grey-area", I would be willing to sacrifice a bit of intuitiveness if it were going to create some huge problem.

I still would say no. Only one of you can block, and that's adding a character that's not on your side of battle.

How can it be your block if you are not controlling the character and can do little to nothing to influence the battle?Furthermore, In teams the common lingo is "can you take this?" or "I pass the block to you". It is impossible to pass the block to someone else if you are automatically blocking. Also This would allow a team to use PO twice in one turn since they are both being attacked.

Good point.  Also as I think more about it, each player on a team makes a separate rescue attempt, therefore it does also seem consistent that their blocks would also be separate.  Thanks for helping me think through this guys, and at this point, I agree with the consensus that even in TEAMS, you can NOT use GoH to add a demon to battle if your teammate is the one blocking at the time.
