Greetings Redemption Community,
A few important announcements regarding Redemption play.
Firstly, after much deliberation by the Elder team we have decided to ban Ephesian Widow from constructed play. Ephesian widow proved to have an unhealthy interaction with Life in the Son, and despite the rule change that limited card activations to 4 per card per turn the Ephesian Widow and Life in the Son combo still proved to be too much, and led to negative play experience that was not healthy for the game. Due to this we have decided to ban Ephesian Widow from constructed play to stop this unhealthy interaction while allowing the card Life in the Son to still remain legal for play.
Along with the banning of Ephesian Widow we are also taking a preemptive measure in banning Daniel from Cloud of Witnesses. With the New Israel's Deliverance starter decks Son of God is seeing a new version printed with a Daniel reference. Due to this, Daniel from Cloud of Witnesses would have the ability to get back this version of Son of God from the discard pile allowing for extra uses of Son of God. This was not something that was deemed healthy for the game, so Daniel from the set Cloud of Witnesses will be banned so that this new printing of Son of God can see play in Redemption.
The effective date of these bans is going to be September 1st 2022 which will also be the first legal date for tournament use of phase 2 of Gospel of Christ cards.
We hope that these announcements all come as good news to the community and look forward to this upcoming season of Redemption.
Thank you,
Redemption Elder Team
