undereused themes tourny.

basicly you have to take one of these underused themes and build a deck around it.

                      theme1:deacons
                       theme2:daniel
                        theme3:musicans
                        theme4:jude
                         theme5:no SA characters
                         theme6:red warriors
                          theme7:apostles
                          theme8:acts

NOTE:this is rts only so I can't play.
send me a decklist and we'll go on from there.

depending on the number of entrats it'll be ether round robin or single emantion.

Jude and Acts aren't really themes, especially since there are no cards that specify those kinds of characters in their abilities. Other than that, I think this is a fantastic idea. For defense, I think Syrians, Persians, Sadducees, Assyrians, and Greeks should be on the list. (This list is more difficult to make, as defense is a bit more balanced between themes than offense.)

For the defense, I would suggest stating that you would have to make a pure defense with those themes (since I do use Greeks in one of my decks but I also have some Pharisees and Nero in it as well).

Also, why Sadducees?  They have plenty to make a good defense.

I think he meant pharisees.
Btw: For giggles, can I mix themes?

He could have easily meant Sadducees, this thread is about underused, not bad.  Compared to Greeks, using A-Bom, or the greatness of Philitines, Sadducees kind of get left behind.

I disagree with Sadducees as well. Also, Syrians and Assyrians are iffy, they are underused only because of the general preference for small defenses in Redemption, but in a format like this, where there are no Z's Temple Priests or Prophet offenses, they would dominate.

On the other hand, I don't think that making a pure Persian or Greek defense would be possible. But I do think there should be a clear cut definition of what a "theme" is. That is, what percentage of characters in the deck need to be from the theme to make it a themed deck? Note that there are currently only 5 Greeks and 5 Persians in the game. I could make a deacon deck, sure, but I could make it 100x better by adding in Claudia. Just some things to think about.

No underused is like first-strike. That's an underused theme. If you are using Syrians or Assyrians, no packs for you.  ;) I think sads is underused enough. Hm... greeks are under-used I think (let me explain.) If you are forced to use one of those offenses, you can't possibly pull of a-bom, which means you're forced to use just greeks... which, let's face it, aren't that great.

Luke heroes should be up there. I've never seen an offense with those. Also Yes first strike is, but if used right (on evil) its nasty.

FWIW, my Luke/John deck has done pretty well. Though that's mostly due to the Philistine defense, but it can be a great offense if you play it right.

When I said Sadds, I actually meant Sadds. I see Pharisees used all the time, but I don't think I've seen a single Sadducee in a deck (besides one of mine that I never played with) since TxP came out. Whether or not it's powerful, I believe it is one of the most underused.

As for the character concentration, I say the minimum percentage of characters from that theme should be 50%. This would allow for 8-10 character defenses (or offenses) for the themes that only have a few cards so far.
