how will you be able to tell which set is better, without using all the cards to their fullest?
that is why i want to be able to use sites correctly.

I need to double check whether or not RTS/hamachi is working for me (I haven't tested it since downloading the new cards), and while I might be able to do it tonight, it probably won't happen until Friday. May I reserve E/F, or should I want until I know for sure?
And D. I'm fine with sites.

I'm in with texp with a vote for option D

With a question tho, are you not allowed to use doms from other sets like a & b decks?

I would assume you are not, and that's one of the reasons I chose a starter deck.

The only cards you can use outside of the sets are generic LSs, so only the starter sets will have access to SoG.

You can reserve it for now, but please let me know ASAP if you can't make it.

I added a fifth option for the site issue (for the benefit of Isildur and whoever decides to take on Women). If you would like to change your vote, please let me know.

Alright...normally don't play online anymore, but I'm a sucker for this kind of event.  I'll be in.

And while I was going to ask for E/F, I see that was reserved while I was looking at cards ;)  I would take Angel Wars instead, then.  Just for the fun factor.

I say just give all heroes site access.  Lets all sites and souls be used to effect, but doesn't lock out the sets lacking access.

Will do. Though E is tempting, I'll stick with D.

In this case, may I change to Un/Limited/A/B Decks/Prophets with choice C

No, that has been taken. C/D is still available though, if you are interested.

Apostles, Warriors, Women, Patriarchs and Kings are also available.

One thing to note (especially for people using sets from before Kings): characters with no special abilities are three per deck per the deck building rules.

I'll take Warriors. If it's ok that I don't use hamachi that is. I host RTS the old fashioned way and let people connect to me directly.

For Sites my first choice is D, my second is E.

By the way, I would find it hilarious if I won first, since my prize would either be 1 card from the I/J starters, or an I/J starter deck.

Hey,

Do promos go with the set they were printed with or are they not used by anyone?

Does the Warriors Player get to use Goshen and Kingdoms as access sites? :)

Lol, yes I suppose that might be a difficult choice...Originally I was going to do promos as another option (in which case the first option might be enticing enough for someone to choose them) but then I ran out of spots (I wanted to keep the tournament at 16 for bracket reasons). I thought about tossing them in with Women's, but several people had already made their choices, so I thought it may be unfair.

I know we discussed Promos on the car ride back, but like I said, I forgot to include them. I'd have to look at the promo distribution, but at this point I'd say they aren't used by anyone.

I'm going to keep the Siteresses from Warriors as they are ruled now.

Since this is an elimination tournament instead of a swiss or round robin, should we try to rank the sets to get seeds?

Well, those who happened to get the better decks shouldn't get more of an advantage, I would think.  Random seeding would be best and most fair...as long as I don't draw Apostles.

I could be persuaded to go along with that, if most everyone else was on board. If you like the idea, then provide your rankings, and I will rank them based on a BCS voting system (16 points for a 1 vote, 15 for a 2 vote, etc.) otherwise let me know if you would be opposed. If not many people like that idea, then I will just randomize the initial seedings.

Here would probably be my rankings:

1. G/H decks
2. RoA
3. I/J decks
4. FooF
5. Kings
6. Warriors
7. Priests
8. Disciples
9. E/F decks
10. Patriarchs
11. TexP
12. A/B Decks with Prophets
13. C/D Decks
14. Angel Wars
15. Apostles
16. Women

As each new set comes out, several new cards are added to decks, but not all of the old cards are replaced. Some older cards have stood the test of time, despite reprints, hard counters, and the stigma of being "old". Well, now it's time to find out which set is best. Here's how it will work:

Since this is an elimination tournament instead of a swiss or round robin, should we try to rank the sets to get seeds?

Well, those who happened to get the better decks shouldn't get more of an advantage, I would think.  Random seeding would be best and most fair...as long as I don't draw Apostles.

Well since the purpose of this exercise seems to be to determine the best set, I don't think its really meant to be fair.

And that's all you'd have to explain. I just know that change is hard for some people...

Also, KoalaKing has texted me that he has chosen Apostles.
