Game C:  I'll be ghosted by jbeers285.  We both figure I would've won anyway.

Update:

There are two games that have yet to be played. I really want to avoid ghosting if at all possible, so I can extend the time limit for awhile. I do want the tournament to finish in a reasonable time, and make sure people are able to play, but I also want to make sure games are played as possible. I have received notice (in person and on here) that _JM_ and jbeers weren't able to play, and I received a PM from browarod saying his schedule never lined up with RTSM. Please try to resolve any scheduling conflicts, and let me know if you are able to get your games in in the next few days or not for me to decide.

For everyone else, please feel free to report your results of Round 2 games now, I am closing the bracket challenge portion now. The one game that did complete last week from Round 2 was ProfU def. wyatt. The bracket is updated.

This is a clear overrating of PA and underrating of TxP because RDT is one of the best players I have faced.

After playing the two games with Patriarchs, I came to what I feel is a reasonable conclusion:

While at face value, having all of the best defensive enhancements in the game (Haman's Plot, Death of Unrighteous, Balaam's Disobedience, Gibeonite Trickery, All the Interrupt/Remove) seems good, in practice I rarely had initiative to play them, and never actually drew any of the interrupts. Furthermore, the characters both offensively, and defensively are just downright atrocious. When your best rescue is Ehud+Cov/W Noah or Enoch+Blessings/Patriarch Travels, you're in trouble.

My game against Priests was lost on account of never drawing an EC, and then having plenty of souls for him to rescue. any of the 3 12 defense Demons is enough to stop most everything the Patriarchs offence can do - Especially if the Demon is Prince of This World, and the Patriarchs player can't find Travels.

Against TxP the problem was similar - Philistine Garrison is capable of defeating almost anything the Patriarchs can throw at it - To make matters worse Outpost can recur him even if I do manage to do something tricky like Enoch+Cov W/ Salt + Blessings

Admittedly, I was playing Patriarchs at 154 - However, I don't see this as a truly bad decision, I'm not racing for Dominants (Oddly enough I drew DoN in both games, though I didn't need it) so essentially I'm just playing 3 of each card in a 50 card deck, Perhaps I would have been slightly more consistent at 50-56, but I'm not convinced I would not have run into the same problems.

Had I played a set without an Immune to Lone Heroes character in the first two rounds, I don't think I'd be done yet.

Plus it doesn't help when the other guy is shuffling with Nathan and recurring one of his best defensive plays like 3 rounds in a row...

or your opponent looking at your hand every turn. or having cards that are hard to discard in a normal deck.

Game C:  I'll be ghosted by jbeers285.  We both figure I would've won anyway.

This is correct we discussed out decks at regionals and i believe the only successful rescues I could have gotten would have been AotL and SoG. My only hope was to lock him out with 2 sites and burial but he planned on playing soul gen which I could not have stopped.

This is a clear overrating of PA and underrating of TxP because RDT is one of the best players I have faced.
First of all, I'll try not to take that as a slight, considering you played me last round :)

Second of all, I'd just like to point out that I called TxP being underrated, and some people gave me some good-natured grief about that.  Considering that TxP just took out AP PA (which was ranked as high as 3rd 4th place by one player two players), I'll consider that some vindication :)

I was able to build my deck if my opponent is ready
I agree that it is better for these games to be played rather than just ghosted.  However, I'm not sure that it is fair for someone to be playing 2 different decks in the same tournament.  Maybe it would be better if RDT took over Jbeers' spot (since PA is eliminated now).  That's still not as ideal as a completely new player who hasn't seen anyone's deck yet.  However we might have to take the best option available.  What do you think Prof A?

My total apologies I was over ambitious.

If this is allowed I could give my deck list to whomever would take my place if they want

i am fine stepping down if RDT wants it. I was just trying to help. On a side note, I beat PA not AW AP.... Also in a trial run my C/D deck just beat priests... just saying...

As the person who has to play the winner of the C game I would very much like to see this game played out!!!! I personally think C/D has a very good chance if they deck build smart and play their cards right.

If its not a conflict of interest I would be more then happy to volunteer myself, build a deck and play in place of Jbeers.

As far as being underrated goes, I think there's a clear line right in the middle of which sets are good and which ones are subpar. Once you look into those groups of 8, it becomes very unclear of what's best. Some of it is just matchups too. I don't think anybody would say that A/B/UL/Pr are a better set than Warriors, but it won that. Some of it is draws. This will only be decided by many, many TOSS tournaments.

I'm ok with either way forward with my game, with either a replacement player or a ghost.  Replacement player would be better, and I think it would be far better (and fairer) to have the replacement be someone not currently in the tournament.
