I know, but we have established rules for how exactly this tournament works. I don't think we should break them just because someone is busy one week.

I think I agree that games for next week can't happen until after midnight tonight.

And for a game to be official both players have to know that it is.  It wouldn't be fair to beat someone today in a game that they thought was unofficial (and may have played a weaker deck) and then turn it into an official game for the next week.

I agree that games played today don't count for the tournament.  Even if SS decides to count it for some reason I won't add it to the FSp drawing for either player.  Entries are limited to 3 per week, no exceptions.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

In this scenario, that isn't the case. We both thought it was official, and after the game I realized it was Sunday.

I still think this shouldn't count. Games should ONLY be played in the allotted time. If I were to go to a tournament in real life, and play against someone before the tournament officially starts it doesn't count, and this is the same scenario.

On a side note for Gabe's drawing: If for some strange reason SS does count it, could I theoretically play another game that week that counts towards your drawing but not the tournament? :P. I really want to win that FSP  :D, and this would allow me to have all 3 entries this week.

I don't care about points. But if this is theoretically accepted, where is the line drawn? Could I play games days in advance, even weeks?

i haven't updated the challenges because it is almost church time, but I will at least weigh in on this.  The game for next week is only official when played in the next week.  It was a fun match/ warmup in my opinion.  Somebody already gave a great example.  If I play a game before the Nats pairings, then it doesn't count regardless if that person is paired with that same opponent the next round.

You guys will just have to play again during the next 7 days. Sorry, but those are the rules...to be fair.  Prof had a busy week not too long ago and he worked around it.  I had a busy week last week and worked around it.  It just takes more communication.

Good Luck!

Game #1 - Janissary
Game #2 - Sauce
Game #3 - xCaleBx
If any of you 3 are on after midnight tonight, I'll probably be around and ready for a game :)

The board says it is 2AM. I assume we use that time simply because it is accurate for all of us and therefore it saves us the trouble of messing with time zones.

So, if that is true, we could play now because it is Monday.

I love it how:

1 - you don't allow losing to discourage you and therefore keep trying
2 - your persistence has probably made you a better player and more likely to win in the future
3 - your continuing to play games still gives you enough points to be beating some people
4 - you have about as much chance as anyone else to win the FSP, due to Gabe's generosity

SS is in the EST, and since we are all in America and no time zone in America is ahead of the EST, I am going to assume that SS will want us to wait until midnight EST.  In which case, I'll be ready to play in 3 hrs (unless SS confirms that we can go by GMT)

Lol, I vote EST.

And Captain, your not as bad as it seems. You've played strong compitition, no one can say you have "bad" losses so to speak.

You do realize that you can change the time on the message board to say just about whatever you want right?  According to my message board it's already Tuesday :)  (although sadly you can't set the time offset to anything greater than 23 so you are apparently limited to +/- one day)

The message board is normalized to GMT (so that standard time offsets can be used) so I guess you _could_ use that as the "official" board time, but that seems kinda silly since I'm pretty sure none of us live in England.

Wow, I didn't realize you could change the time zone.
Being I'm on as many different forums as I am, I'm just so used to having everything based off GMT. Yea, go Greenwich :).

Beings that is the case, I guess Eastern makes sense ;)

I say we give Prof Underwood the "awesome person" award. Always looking at the bright side and bringing fun to the game. Go you!  :)

On an on topic note(kind of)... I bet my two games is gonna win me that FSP.  ::)

I appreciate the nomination, but I must decline.  I don't "always" look at the bright side.  In fact (confession time) Gabe had to correct me and put me back on the straight and narrow path during our last game when he was playing with a particular card that I have extreme disdain for :)

(this will be my last post cause it's off topic but I thought I'd point out how awesome Mark is).  :)

If you can think of another person who looks on the bright side as much as you... then sure, let's nominate him. But so far I haven't seen him. Even how you play... always letting people take stuff back, not using "cheap" decks, and your overall generous and kind attitude.

Nuff' said.  8)

Cheap Decks is an anagram for speed in this case.

Actually I have no problem with speed. I just don't like decks that don't let you do anything. Example: Garden Tomb, Ignore, Zebulen, and stuff like that. I'm not complaining just clarifying what I meant.  :)
