I was unable to get on Hamachi at all last night too.  Hamachi is/was having issues.

BTW, are SS and Fireninja going to play for first place?  I'm excited to hear the outcome of that matchup!

Hey BrianGabe,
It is becoming increasingly difficult for us to match up.  When we set up a time, last night, Hamachi wouldn't let me on.  I tried to connect to him directly through RTS (like I used too with Daniel TS Red) but for some reason that didn't work either.  We're hoping to hook up for our game in the next couple of days...I'm excited to see it play out too!

Yeah, same here. Should be great. I hope it's not a blowout of bad draws though... I hope it's relitively even on both sides. That way it's actually the better deck and play, not just whoever drew the best cards first.

No... school...  :'( That's why it's hard for me. School and stuff. So it only works at night, and a lot of the times my parents don't want me playing at night, either because they want to get on or because they just don't want me playing all that much.

well, if it completes the way it is now then my feelings aren't hurt because I would win...I just wanted to get all the games in for fairness sake.  We'll see what happens by Sunday.

You would win? I was on last night and you couldn't play. I've been several other nights besides. The one day that we both agreed on a date, you didn't show. I'm not saying it was your fault... but you can't seriously mean to give yourself a win for that, can you?

I'm under the impression that you're the one who's been hard to meet up with, Fireninja.  It almost appears as if you're trying to "hang on" to the top spot by avoiding games.  That why I suggested extending the tournament by a week.  If you just make yourself available to play it won't really matter though.

Hamachi wasn't working last night.  I tried to get on all night myself.

I'm not doing that at all. I have school. All the people who challenged me this week are over 30. Which means they play when they want. I have to ask my parents to play, and sometimes they don't want me to play.   :( But anyways... All I am saying is that I have been on a LOT when he isn't. It's because of the time zones. The typical times for me to play are at dinner and family time for our adults in the East Coast. It's not me, and I am in no way avoiding games. I play fair, and I would love to take on challenges if I could. But like I said, I have had times that I can play, and they can't, and vice versa.

For example... I was going to play the Prof last night. But I had commited to playing Soul Seeker, so I had to turn it down. We had agreed to play at eight, and he wasn't on. I understand that Hamachi wasn't working... but he didn't even contact me through PM till 8:30, which was too late to retry with Prof Underwood. I should have already had that game in, but I can't cause I was commited to play SS, and he didn't keep that commitment. Not because he couldn't get on Hamachi, but because he didn't let me know the problem. He admitted that he had been trying to get on Hamachi for 45 minutes, and not once contacted me in that time.

I don't think he should get Ghost points. We only AGREED to one time, and I was there, he wasn't. All the other times, only one person was available.

If you've both made every efford to play your match for 2 weeks I can't see any reason why it won't eventually happen.  ;)

1.  I wouldn't win by ghost points...check the current score:  I have: 30, you: 29, Prof: 26...if it ended today...I have the most points.  Ghost points would only solidify it.

2.  I talked to Prof today (he can back me up if he wants too) but he couldn't get on last night either and thus you couldn't get that game in with him.

3.  I didn't contact you until I saw you on the Redemption website...as soon as I noticed you were on I sent a private message...I'm not sure of the time (I thought it was earlier) but it could have been 8:30 pm.

4.  I'm not sure where to go from here (if we don't get the game in), so if a lot of people think it's unfair for me to win (with the most points) but haven't played FireNinja then I will forfeit the prize.  I don't think this minor inconvenience should sully a great tournament to this point.  It is just another kink that I will need to address by 2009.
For the record, I'm not upset about it...I just don't want to repeat this particular situation in the January tourney.  How do we help keep this from happening in the future is my ultimate goal.

I agree with RR, if Mike is not on, then just play RR.  I don't see the trouble with it, especially when Mike does get on then you can just send a quick message.

@ Soul Seeker - I don't have a problem with you having top spot +prizes, you've earned. Everyone has played hard, but life does rear it's head from time to time and cause interruptions. I, for one, have only been able squeeze in the one game for the end of the year tourney. If I can get the other 2 games in great, if not, there is next year.

@ fireninja - We understand how time can get away from us. It doesn't seem that any fingers are being pointed or blame being placed on you. You and I have played great games, as I'm sure you have played with the others. As a parent myself, I understand about monitoring my kids time on the computer, so don't let that get you down.

I believe this tournament forum has been a great place to test deck designs and achetypes against a good cross section of players. I've played a good number of the players in this tournament long before we all joined this tournament forum. Soul Seeker has done a great job of running this tournament and keeping it going smoothly.

Godspeed,
Mike

Rrulez4theSA beat me 5-4. It was a good game and a close game, but ultimately the game went to Rrulez4theSA.

@Godspeed,
I'm not letting it get me down. I'm just explaining why I can't always get on at times. And pointing out that I see no realy significantly more effort to play games from SS than from me, therefore not warranting the win by "ghosting."

Prof and SS... I can play probably all of tonight. Please post if you can play, or send me a message on Hamachi. I really want to get at least one more game in before the week ends...
