Just lost to FireNinja 5-4, even after discarding his SoG. It was really close though; only another turn or two without drawing the LS that I drew, and I might have won. Oh well. Great game! :)

Also, I'd like to challenge Soul Seeker again (provided you have enough challenges left; I'm not sure). ;D

@ prof and tsavong lah. I will be very busy this week(thanksgiving, my brother home for college, etc.) and will try to play you. However, I would like to decline these to allow a game whenever I have the chance to play, instead of accepting and then losing for ghost points.
RR's challenge of me ended in a super close 5-4 victory for me.  It was a great game.

I would like to also add a challenge of Soul Seeker.  In case he beats, FireNinja, I'll have to beat SS to take the top spot.  Of course that also assumes that I can beat FireNinja myself.  This brings up an interesting point.  If FN is too busy this week with the holidays to play me, and he beats SS, then does he keep the top spot by default because he doesn't accept my challenge?

I will be around right after school tomorrow as well as late tomorrow night, so hopefully, I'll be able to catch him then :)

Not that my opinion matters much since I'm not in the tournament but...

I suggest to Jonathan to extend this "week" (as in the three challenges people are allowed to play for this week) for an extra week (until Dec 7th) due to this being a holiday week.  Since no new tournament is starting next month that could give players a few extra days to get their three challenges in and give everyone a fair shot at the top spot.

I challenge SS if he has a challenge left as well.

@ FireNinja and others who are curious....Ghosting will not allow you to keep top spot because you must defend that spot.  (Other wise you can try to "ghost" to victory)  But I do want to be fair, so I like Gabe's suggestion of extending it for a week to fulfill all challenges.  You still only get 3 games/challenges until December 7th though.

I would propose that the first 3 weeks of the tournament stay the way that they are, and then the last week that the top 4 players all have to play each other.  Of course everyone else could still play whoever they wanted the final week.

1 vs 2
1 vs 3
1 vs 4
2 vs 3
2 vs 4
3 vs 4

This would fill all 3 games for each of the top 4 people, and would ensure that the champion would end up having beaten the best to be the best.  For instance, FN is playing 2 and 3, but went outside the top 4 for his third game.  That means that RR would have no chance to win (even if he had beaten me, and also Soul Seeker.  Similarly, SS is playing 1 and 3, but went outside the top 4 for his third game.  That also means that RR would have no chance to win if SS beats FN.

It seems to me that if someone makes it through the first 3 weeks to end up in the top 4, that they should have a chance to win.  It won't matter this month, since RR has already lost one game this week, and the top 3 are all playing each other.  But I suggest that we should implement the final week round-robin for the next month (Jan 09).

Overall, I think this tournament has been great.  I think we just need to keep it up, invite more people to join (I hear that BubbleBoy may be joining), and keep making slight improvements as we go (like the above suggestion).

"Ghosting" is simply not fulfilling your challenges.  Let's say:  you (Raven) and I (SS) had a challenge.  Yet, during the week only one of us (Raven) tries to play the other (me) by requesting several times or being on every day.  We may even set up a specific time, but the same person (me) still doesn't show.  That is "ghosting" in my book.  A person (me, in the example) becomes invisible, like a ghost.

As much as I see prof's point... I think that it is also true that anyone should be able to attack the top spot. For instance... tsavong lah got his challenge in with me yesterday, I won, 5-4. Had he won, then beat let's say RR and SS, then he might take 1st, because he had beat head to head all of the people that would be ahead of him in head to head matches. So I think we just made it that you don't HAVE to accept challenges, and it's hard to always be on, especially with someone like Prof who is 3 hours different than me, and tsavong not only challenged me but was on to accept the next day. So I think that the 1st place person should be able to play whoever they want, exept for their first challenge. And I think that I will be playing you and SS, right prof? I might be on some random time this week... but let's not plan anything till later, okay? thanks.

just my  :2cents: :2cents: (yep, my input is twice as important ;))

Glad to hear, I'm not the only one struggling to get on hamachi at night.  I think two weeks-->plus the four days left in this week is plenty (aka: ends on Dec. 7th)....I'm assuming most people want this wrapped up before too long.
