It says "the cards.txt file cannot be found!" and doesn't show the field of play after I close that, or any cards whatsoever in the deck editor.

You're not taking RTS.exe out of the folder by itself are you?

I imagine you could play it on dial up, as its not a very internet intensive program.

No, it is only available for PC (not mac or linux either).

Can anyone help me with these errors:
"This error occured in "Form_Activate": line number 40: (err#481) Invalid picture (Originated with RTS)"

and

"The cards.txt text file cannot be found!"

The first error is common to all RTS users. It happens when you open the program. Click OK and then everything works fine. It's a problem with the original code.

The second error was addressed just a few posts before yours. Just scroll up to find the answer you seek.

Oh. That was weird. This whole time I thought I was trying to run it from a shortcut. Ran it directly from the folder and it didn't even give me the first error...

You can run it from a shortcut, just as long as you don't drag RTS out of the folder.

If you right click on the program, you should be able to create a shortcut. I know you can in Windows XP, but I dont have much experience with Windows 7 yet.

Yeah, that's solved now, thanks. New problem, though. Do I need to download an update or something? It doesn't seem to have cards from Apostles, Priests, FOOF/ROA, or TexP and Disciples in it.

Did you download an installer? If so, that is horribly out of date, and unfortunately, nobody is around to update that. Also, I'd like to know where that link is so we can get rid of it.

Please refer to this thread for the correct file to download, it is just a .zip folder with an up to date RTS folder. Just take it out of the .zip, run the copy of RTS that is in that folder (not the one you previously installed) and you'll be good to go.

Thanks, worked like a charm. Unfortunately, someone whose name I don't remember installed the RTS for me after I kept running into fatal errors trying to do it myself, so I don't know where the downloads came from.

That is the official RTS page it's just not being kept up. On the plus side is does have the download for the plug-ins that people are sometimes missing so that's helpful.

We had storms here and there was a power outtage. That server always needs help getting back up. I'll let you know when I can get there.

Aparently the problem wasn't a power outage (there is a battery backup but it's only good for so long... :p). The web server that was hosting those files has had a catastrophic failure and may not be back online for some time, if ever. I'll see about moving the RTS files to a new server soon. But obviously those aren't my top concern right now. Sorry.
