Mysterious Server Problems

I and some other people sometimes experience an error where our opponents can see our actions and typing but we can see none of theirs. I've found that when this happens, oftentimes I am not able to type in the lobby, either (thought I still appear connected on my screen). Usually when I refresh and rejoin the lobby we're able to get it to work by reconnecting, but sometimes not. Occasionally I have to completely re-log in to Connect!

I have found that this tends to happen most often during prolonged periods of inactivity by my opponent or when one of us relinquishes control of a card, though it does sometimes happen for no discernible reason.

Using newest Chrome with newest RTS.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

It has nothing to do with the browser, as people with Firefox (including myself) have reported this problem as well.

Yeah, you are quite mistaken. Chrome is by far the best browser there is (proven, not just an opinion) plus, RC is developed on Chrome.

The problem actually resides in a couple of issues that I'm aware of, all of which reside on the server. The major part is that I've been having issues with the server (not the lobby, but the actual physical server). It's been locking up. I'm currently running it on a Windows Server 2008, which isn't ideal. I tried moving it to a linux, but then for some reason the lobby had even more issues. Obviously Node.js (what the lobby server is written in) likes windows better for what I'm trying to do (which doesn't make since seeing how node.js is native to linux). I have been trying to find a solution, but there is a reason the lobby code is named "MagicCode". I don't really know how it works, it just does. Like magic. If any of you know Node.js and are familiar with networking, I'd be glad for your help. Until then, however, you are going to just have to try struggling with it. I'm truly sorry, but until I can figure what is the root of all the problems, there's nothing I can really do.

Right now the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox are running about the same speed for me, and Chrome has zero add-ons I want, whereas Firefox has four or five that I use regularly. That is -definitely- your opinion.

I'm not talking about user experience like customization. I'm talking about standard specification support, stability, and speed. As for speed though, while Chrome is significantly faster than any other browser, browsers run so fast now it's too small for humans to notice much.

As for customization, firefox does win. But then again, that's just adding crap to your computer. I like a lean working environment. That's another reason why I get along with chrome more than any other browser.

Chrome > Firefox > Opera > Safari > Rocks > Internet Explorer.

The rock joke aside these are proven facts. Chrome is the fastest and most standards compliant of all of the browsers. As soon as they added the web developer tool bar to Chrome, I never had a use for firefox again. Outside of making sure my scripts work in their none standards compliant environment. Add this to the fact that most of your toolbars get disabled and are not compatible ever time there is an update to flaming kitty (which since they're trying to keep pace with chrome now is about twice a month) and there really is no competition.

The lobby still isn't working for me and I have a ROOT game to play. Have you made any headway on figuring what the problem is?

I'm having this exact problem. Ever figure it out?
