RedemptionLive! updates your machine automatically with any changes to the card database when you first go to the main web page. It sends down only the changed cards so it is fast (after the initial load of the card database), so it works for corrections to errors in a card, release of new cards, updated card images, new brigades, etc.

Mike

So a lot will be saved locally, and thus reduce bandwidth?
Even though it is a web-based application, RedemptionLive! maintains a copy of most of the card images and data on your machine. This allows for extremely quick response times as you use the application. The initial download of data the first time you access the site from any specific machine may take anywhere up to 10 or 15 minutes depending on the speed of your internet connection. After that, when you go to the site it only takes a few seconds to see if your machine has all of the latest data before the application is available to use.

Maybe an idea on reducing that initial load time would be to break images in to sets and download them in the background? Or better yet, don't load any images till first needed then cache them. 10 to 15 min. wait time is REALLY long.

also cards like susanna where opponent looks at the top x cards need to work correctly where cards are sperate from hand.
This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!

Once I get everything working for Phase 1, I'll take a look at the various possibilities to improve performance. I may be able to allow the application to begin after the card data is available and before the card images are downloaded.

also cards like susanna where opponent looks at the top x cards need to work correctly where cards are sperate from hand.
This will be handled correctly.

Will there be spectator mode?
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

That would be cool, but they'd have to only allow it for public decks.

Spectator mode will probably be available, given the consent of all of the players.

That could lead to some morally questionable situations, especially in ROOT.

/although it's the same as having two people play in the same room.

There would probably be an option for mute spectating, but tbh if they want to talk they'll Hamachi people.

And remember, there would be an option to turn spectators off.

I agree with, Pol.  Spectator mode would be awesome, provided it's optional and spectators can be muted.  If those aren't options then it's only a drawback to me.

What would be nice is to have a time delay on the spec mode and the option of recording the game. That would be awesome.

Nay. It wouldn't be too hard to do that yourself if it isn't included, so I don't really think it is worth his time to put it in.

Also, will it show available targets for an ability?  For instance, if I use Philly Armorbearer, do I have to look through my whole deck, or will it show me the Phillies left in my deck?

I hope you get to look through your whole deck. That way it's more realistic.

Looking through your opponent's deck, maybe.  But what would be the purpose of looking at a bunch of cards you already know are there?

I'm not sure how much time it takes to add something like this in, but if it doesn't take long it'd be worth the add. All of the ROOT games for the month could be recorded and everyone would be able to watch them. I think that's pretty sweet. If it's not added, no-one is going to record their games manually. At least that hasn't happened so far.
