It doesn't run on Windows 98, or so I'm told. There was a time, before Hamachi, where people use to play RTS by connecting directly to one another. It's still possible but a little complicated if you have a router and don't know how to configure it (most people don't).

I have a router and its configured (yay for Dad being a electrical engineer) I'm just not keen on people on my server and neither are many other people

Paranoid much?
Hosting a game on RTS is not "letting them on your server". They don't have access to any of your stuff unless they know how to hack in. If they do they wouldn't need to play a game of RTS to do it and they probably have better places to hack than you.

I played my good friend Barack Obama online the other day1. If he feels it is safe, I'll consider it safe.

not chesschat tomite.
No one likes to be called a tomite. ;)
BTW, I always read "chesschat" as "cheesechat" for some reason. This makes much more sense now.
