The basic answer to this question is leadership issues. ROOT was first started a few years ago, and was run for a couple years by the original leadership of Soul Seeker, BrianGabe, and myself. After 2 years of doing it every month, we all needed a break, and so we handed the tournament over to a rotating group of leaders. In theory, this should have helped ROOT to be able to go on indefinitely.
However, as is often the case, it is difficult for others to have the same level of commitment to something that they did not personally create. Therefore, some of the leaders have not really been as dedicated to maintaining ROOT as I had hoped. Prof A has done an excellent job during his time in leadership, and have basically run things by himself for the last 6 months. However, his term just ended, and it appears that no one has picked up the baton.
I have enjoyed my time off, and currently feel more rejuvenated about Redemption. Therefore, I plan to be rejoining ROOT Leadership starting in June. At that point, you can expect that monthly tournaments will resume for at least the next 6 months after that. But for this to work long-term, some other people are going to need to step up to the plate as well.
