single elimination is the true tournament way cause you have brackets but the only problem is, the chances of everyone winning or losing vary in skill like the less experienced players' chances in winning and not being eliminated early are like how ever many people to 1 like you have 20 people involved in it, the chances of them winning a game are 20 to 1 and im thinking on this logically, but honestly i prefer swiss cause everyone has a chance to come back from a loss so just one loss isn't a big deal and it evens everything out and it's so balanced its the most commonly used tournament type for any tournament, i mean i have a perfect example of the win-loss ratio, while chances of winning in single elimination for the newer players are very slim and they cant afford to make a mistake, and chances of winning swiss are more balanced and gives people a fighting chance when they made at least 1 mistake throughout their run in the tournament, like for example and this couldn't be a better example; for those of you on the boards who KNOW me and my knack for being one of those players who are lovable losers, i have the tendancy to have common losing streaks but i still play as hard as i can to win the game, while at nationals this was somewhat different, i had started the first 2 rounds losing 5-0 which was very BAD for me but i received a bye in the 3rd round to calm down and shake the losses off and when i started again in round 4 i blazed through rounds 4 5 and 6 with a 3 game winning streak only to lose in the 7th round against mark underwood in a mirror match (i wanna rematch after that mark lol) but thats another story but i lost that game won the 8th and 9th rounds and lost the last round against Red. and in the end i cam up with a 6-4 record but my point is, swiss is balanced and is the best tournament ype there is and its fair for everyone who tends to make mistakes cause it gives them a chance to come back next game and do the best they can to have a reasonable record if not a remarkable one. and in single elimination, each game is risky cause there's a chance of defeat and problem with that is, if you play 1st round and lose, it cuts you off from playing anymore in the tournament, and thats not fun cause you have to sit there while watching everyone else finish the tournament. disagree if you will to what im saying but i know most redemption players will agree with me that swiss is alot more fun then single elimination but still single elimination can be fun depending on how you look at it but this is my opinion and im sticking to it
