Yeah. The last month I played in was August. Back then, even people in the top four got bonus points, which was bad for the top player of course (not that I would have won anyway, I lost all three of my games).

ProfA, I think it was changed shortly after you left. I was pretty sure that it was on the first page of the rules.

hey all,

So I have always wanted to get in on the ROOT action but was previously prevented from doing so because I have a mac and thus no RTS. However I recently looked and the rules of play and came across this

"Typically games are played on RTS using Hamachi, although both players can agree to alternatives (ie. AIM, in-person, etc.)."

Does this mean I can join ROOT and not have to use RTS? If so can I use my physical T1 Deck and AIM my actions, cards etc to my opponent? If this is the case I would love to get in on the RTS action.

My AIM is Chainlesspoems is that is the case.

Prof or another mod please let me know if I can join or if RTS is still required.

I would like to announce two things in this post.

1) After this week I will be taking a hiatus for awhile from ROOT. Need some perspective and time to get affairs in order. I am not one to quit something before I am finished so I will finish the month.

2) Since I said so on another ROOT thread, I will unofficially challenge (since it is 12:11 am on Thursday) RR. He will undoubtedly trounce me and thrash me severly about the head and shoulders. Nonetheless, I enjoy meeting new opponents, so Unofficial challenge is on.

I will be available from time to time on Hamachi for fun games so please ask if you see me on.

I'd like to have Gabe or SS chime in on this too, but my understanding is that players without RTS will probably have a harder time getting 3 games in every week, and would be unlikely to end up in the top 4. However, I think that if they did, that they'd probably have to pass up their spot.

Well there's a spot saved for you in ROOT Silver anyway, just in case you happen to get RTS compatible sometime during March

I don't think it does. Every network that ProfU started no longer shows up on my networks. Which is a shame too because I was like in 8 of them.

Yes, "really logged in" does exist again. The password is "really". But remember that if you join, make sure that you are REALLY logged in when Hamachi says you are

I apologize for your trouble there, but it was necessary to get around the Hamachi problems that I was having. The good news is that due to the recent Hamachi problems, I got motivated enough to put some work into finding a new alternative to Hamachi. I've been working on testing a few out with RDT, ProfA, and SirNo.

So far we've eliminated Remobo (can't even get chat to work), Gbridge (can chat, and see IPs, but not connect and not user friendly), and Leaf (great look, and user friendly, but can't even get online). More info to come.
