I would say that the majority of players will not agree to playing via AIM or chess chat, I know that I won't. This then brings up the issue of you challenging me, or vise versa, If we can't agree on the way to play, then how do we play? The answer is we don't which just leads to more hassles. I know that Prof, SoulSeeker, and Gabe want as many people in the tournament as possible but this just seems like a much better idea to simply make RTS/Hamachi required.
