I'm confused about when the abilities in the text section take place. Persian Archers was going to be part of my Persian/Syrian deck, until I realized I might have to set him aside to let him band. The card reads "You may set aside a hero in a territory for 3 turns. If you do, set aside this card for 3 turns after battle. May band to a Persian warrior." Now, suppose I just pay no attention to the first 2 sentences--can Persian Archers band to any Persian Warrior? Or do I have to jump through the hoops mentioned in the first 2 sentences and do the set asides before it gets the ability to band?
