Converting the evil character that is blocking

Titus wound up facing Og King of Bashan.  Then I played a Praise from Prison that converted an evil human to a clay hero. I chose Og.  I know when some of these powers take out the opposition, you can still play an enhancement if it nullifies the last enhancement, or something like that, but if the Evil Character is converted and is now a clay brigade hero, is there an enhancement / "magic bullet" that can be played to stop it?  Or now that Og is a good clay hero, does he immediately  "return to the controlling player's territory"?

Because the convert results in him returning to territory, the convert is removing him from battle. So the opponent gets special initiative to play an interrupt or negate before he converts to clay.

Oops!  My opponent was holding a black enhancement that didn't negate anything, but it did allow him to discard any hero in play.   Could he have played that?  Or only cards that would have kept him from being taken out of the battle?

Only cards that would have stopped the convert. Its the same thing as being discarded - you can stop it, but nothing else.
