Are older decks obsolete?

The decks released before classes were introduced, are they now obsolete? I know many of the cards were re-released, is there a guide somewhere for the ones that weren't to give some of them class assignments?

By classes do you mean like warrior class, territory class, cloud?  If so then no, older cards do not gain these retroactively.

If instead you mean identifiers such as prophet, musician etc., check out:

It lists all the different identifiers and which cards/versions of cards they apply to.
