Cactus Web Site special offer: Orders over $75 will receive a free Angel of God 2023 National Promo card while supplies last.
Cactus probably only has the rights to the art for the expressed purpose of using them on Redemption cards. Otherwise, I think we'd see some Cahaba art on promotion items.

what promotion items does cactus have in the first place?
I have seen generic versions of the playmat for $10 in gaming stores, so the price point will be an issue for me. I always try to support Christian businesses, even if it means paying more. However, paying double is stretching it.
I have also done playmats using the Gates of Hell artwork and another one with the Throne of Heaven (not a redemption card) artwork. I agree that if we can do a single piece of art instead of two split down the middle it will be much better. I have had a hard time gettng ahold of cahaba/eternal studios in order to buy the rights for their art but I agree they are very cool looking. I have come to the conclusion from the thread I had about playmat layouts that we will have a hard time printing a mat with a layout everyone will agree upon. I think that we need to print whatever graphic we choose with a place for won lost souls only (probably only up to 5 since I don't really see type-2 being squeezed onto one of these mats).
why not just use the official layout demonstrated in the rulebook?

The battles are to talk place off of the playmat anyway. This is only for holding and organizing your territory
most mtg and yugioh mats retail in the $15-25 range, with limited edition ones (such as mats awarded to tournament attendees/winners) reaching into the hundreds. $20-30 for a redemption mat is actually very reasonable.
I agree, if there is going to be a standard layout printed on the playmat then it should be the official layout from the rulebook. Another option is the simply print an awesome collage of Redemption art on the mat. You could still put GoYS in one of the top corners to represent a Land of Redemption. But without a designated area on the mat players would still have the freedom to choose the layout if they wanted.
I was talking about single-color unprinted ones, which I would be quite content with for half the price.
Quote from: YourMathTeacher on July 12, 2011, 12:30:18 PMI was talking about single-color unprinted ones, which I would be quite content with for half the price.so...what would be the point of a 'generic' redemption playmat then...?
I think what he is saying is that he doesn't want to pay significantly more to slap a Grapes of Wrath and Mayhem on his playmat.
right, but i thought that was the entire point of the thread, that it does cost extra to slap some redemption artwork on a playmat and the demand for such a mat...
He was looking for feedback. My feedback as a cash-strapped father is that if I am just looking for a playmat to put my cards on, then a generic one for $10 is more economical than a $25 aesthetically-appealing one.
I can buy a week's worth of meals for my family for the extra $15

Hey Mark, It's called sandwiches, Ramen Noodles, and Mac & cheese.
Depending on how large the playmats are, I would be interested if it was >$15.
