Title: The Storehouse
Post by: The Schaef on July 21, 2006, 11:23:07 AM
Many Redemption players have been on the scene for a long time. They've bought the packs, they've played the tournaments, they've traded everything that wasn't bolted down, just to get that one long-sought promo card. But as time has marched on, they have found their collection of older, more common cards growing. And growing.
And growing.

What can be done with these extra cards that you can't use? That's where The Storehouse comes in.  Just like its namesake, cards that are going to be discarded can be sent to The Storehouse instead.

The Storehouse was founded for the purpose of allowing long-time players to donate their unused collection of cards to be sold or donated to new players or those with smaller collections. Donated cards will earn their donors credit towards the purchase of new booster packs.

For more information visit The Storehouse (http://storehouse.redemptionnexus.com).

Update:

The first batch of cards donated at this year's nationals are in.  One4music has donated nearly 200 cards, totalling $24.35 in credit, that can be used to get half-off new card purchases from the Nexus (or at the moment, my supplier, Open Sky)!

One4music, please PM me your personal information so that when you order from me in the future, I will know who to apply the proper credit to.

There is a lot more for me to calculate, there were a lot of generous individuals at the tournament, and I cannot thank them enough!   ;D

Let me know when you've got my credit calculated, I will mostl likely be getting starters to teach new players in the area... and sleeves if you carry them.

I will have a bunch of cards for you soon I am figuring 4 or 5 thousand cards you said the are going to help get playgroups started didnt you.

That's the idea.  When my storefront goes up, I'll have singles for sale there as well, but so far we've taken in well over 7,000 cards and I don't have an exact count but I'd say I've given out over a thousand cards already, and I'm getting ready to ship some out to the Ship, PA group.

Wow, thats an awesome amount of credit. I'll have to figure out how I want mine distributed.

Will all redemption products be avaliable? Will all cactus products be avaliable? Will other products be avaliable?

For the moment, only the cards (starters and boosters).  I will talk to my supplier about the board games, but I can't make any promises on that.

Jim Woolcott also made a donation to The Storehouse at Nationals this year.  He does not wish to cash out his credit, but he probably got the most bang for his buck of any donors to date.  With only 422 cards, he provided over $200 worth of donations!  Thank you so much, Jim!

Schaef,  I saw on one of your posts some where that you were going to start selling single cards.  Are you considering doing the same thing with storehouse for single cards?  I'm just kind of interested if your considering this.

May we buy Preists in September or October? I know you said wait one month and buy 10, then another and buy alot, but when do you count the release as being?

Since Priests aren't being sold to distributors yet, I'm guessing the September release will begin the one month "buy 10" period.

I haven't yet decided what I'm going to do with my singles.  Obviously I am already donating some of them back out, to my playgroup and to other low-income playgroups that may need some startup cards.  One possibility I am considering is making some pre-built decks and selling those.  They very likely would not be tournament-winning decks since they would be short on Dominants and have few or no rares, but it might be a good way for a beginner to get a handle on Redemption combos and strategies.  More details when I stop counting cards long enough to sit down and work on the idea.

The release for me is the general release, as it is the vendors I am trying not to undercut on sales, not just Cactus.

Cards from starter decks are welcome and particularly appreciated, including Dominants and all Lost Souls regardless of type.  I know these were discouraged in the past, there is now a slight change in the policy.

ANOTHER UPDATE:

Trade value for all C/D, E/F, G/H starters (except Lost Souls) has been increased to ten cents.  Anyone who has starters to donate, they would be appreciated (I'm looking at you, sealed deck players).

Sorry, could you clarify the pack exchange thing for me?  I'm just not understanding it right.

Send me your old cards.  You get credit at New Beginning Games (http://www.newbeginninggames.com), which you can apply to get half off new cards.

Example, you donate say 1000 cards, and accumulate $40 worth of credit.  You can cash in that credit and get $100 worth of cards for $60, or $50 worth of cards for $30, or 3 Kings packs for $4.86, etc.

Since Priests originally shipped at the end of September, I will make them available for credit redemption the last week of October (Monday is the 30th), maximum 10 packs.  They can be purchased without limit starting Monday, December 4.

I take pretty much everything (although I'd prefer not to see entire boxes of "garbage" cards from blue packs), including promos.  In fact, someone sent me a couple hundred bucks worth of promos recently.

Post by: legocom11ca on October 05, 2006, 06:59:45 PM
I pretty much gave away most of my limited/unlimited cards. You'll get only a few of those..... I keep lots of my cards for deck building for other people, but I have some whose special abilities stink. I'm gonna send some promos along too. Thanks for doing this and I'll pray for a full recovery for your wife.

Is there any way that you would want us to sort them to make it easier on you?
Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: The Schaef on October 20, 2006, 11:01:29 PM
not necessarily, as I end up sorting them upon arrival anyway, but at least clustering them by color would be a big help.

Even if you just toss them all into a big box and ship em out, you don't get penalized at all.  It just takes me a little longer to get to the bottom of the pile and tell you how many army surplus helicopters you've earned.

Schaef,

Were you offering a free Priests pack with a purchase of Bible Apples to Apples? If so, is that still active? Also, what is the shipping cost for the game?

I thought I read that you were looking for larger playing areas for tournaments. May I suggest checking with your local Christian schools to see if you could hold the event in their cafeteria. That way you would have the long tables, possibly vending machines, and a nearby bathroom. Christian schools may want the exposure and recruiting opportunity, especially if you have homeschoolers.

Just a thought.

We already tried Grace Brethren, which is one of the larger churches in the area (not counting Vineyard or the big Rod Parsley megachurch).  Ima look into the very nearby brand new Salvation Army church, and if that worketh not, there's a big Nazarene church down by where our old tournaments used to be.  Bit more of a hike but we'll see what we can work out.

And yes, the offer with purchase is still good.  Shipping will probably be 4 or 5 bucks for just the game, but with a $50 order shipping is free.

I don't have extra starters (although I have been asking people to donate those now), but I do have a big ole box of cards ready to mail out to you (just finished putting it together yesterday).  PM me your address and I'll send those.  Hope that will help a bit.

FYI, the descript page for The Storehouse has been updated again, to include Priests cards, which at the moment are worth trade value.

See http://storehouse.redemptionnexus.com for all the details.

I also want to remind everybody who has donated cards that, starting this Friday, Dec. 1, the 10-pack restriction on redeeming credit for Priests will be lifted, and you may apply your credit to as many Priests packs as you wish.

The newest donation to The Storehouse comes from Ashton Lewis (Casponos), who donated 335 cards at a value of $36.70!  Thank you so much, Ashton!

That latest contribution means that in the six months since the program began, over 13,000 cards have been donated to The Storehouse, and over 4,000 cards have been or are currently being re-distributed to playgroups!!!  I can't thank you all enough for your generosity!

Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: The Schaef on December 03, 2006, 06:41:49 PM
It means you can apply the credit towards half of your purchase, and you have $36.70 worth of credit to apply.

So you can buy a starter deck for $10, spend $5, use $5 credit, and have $31.70 left.  Or you can buy $73.40 worth of stuff, spend $36.70, and use your $36.70 worth of credit.

Hola! Just so you know Shaef, when my cards come, it will say Lois Carrizales, but they are really coming from me, Joey. My mom doesn't play Redemption, but she does have little stickers that have our address on them! Plus, I will be using my moms credit card to buy stuff, so that will apparently be hers too. I don't know if any of this makes any sort of difference, but I thought it might, so I told you! 8)

Joey Carrizales' contribution of 571 cards has earned him $46.35 credit at New Beginning Games.  He can redeem that credit for 50% of the value of his purchases of any card or board games sold there.

I need to announce an important change regarding my Storehouse policy for redeeming credit.

Beginning today, February 10, credit earned in the Storehouse can be redeemed for up to 40% off the prices of Redemption cards and all board games available at New Beginning Games.  Combined with NBG's already-discounted prices, donors will still be getting ~45% off standard retail prices.

I apologize to my faithful contributors that this change was necessary, but after taking a percentage off the retail price, and then selling product for half the discounted price (which was an error on my part to begin with), the business model is simply broken.  I cannot continue to sell product at such a steep discount.  I hope that 45% off retail is still a satisfactory compensation for the cards that you have donated; your efforts are greatly appreciated and I would very much like to keep your business.  If there are any questions, please contact me by email or PM.

Title: Re: The Storehouse

The Storehouse (http://storehouse.redemptionnexus.com) is in need of starter deck cards.  Many of you play sealed but already have three copies of all the starters.

So here's the deal.  Send me a PM or email with your name and the date/location of the tournament you attended.  For cash, include either your mailing address or your Paypal account.

Then, send me the sealed deck that you built for the tournament, including all 50 starter deck cards, and any common cards from the booster packs.

For this, I will reimburse the entry fee for your sealed deck category for that tournament.  You can request a cash (check, Paypal, money order) payment, or receive Storehouse credit (good for 40% off cards and games sold at New Beginning Games (http://www.newbeginninggames.com)).

Please note the following:
- this offer only applies to the fee for the sealed deck category.  It does not apply to your one-time entry fee for the tournament (unless sealed categories are free), or to any other category of play, including booster draft
- including the rares or ultras that you received in your boosters is not required.  I only need the starters and commons.  If you wish to voluntarily donate rares or ultras to The Storehouse, you will receive trade value for each card, but only as Storehouse credit for NBG products, no cash.
- the cash payment offer is only for a limited time, until our supply needs are met.  I will probably continue to offer reimbursement in the form of Storehouse credit after the cash offer expires

The cup runneth over at The Storehouse!

Thanks to Adam Erickson, who donated (and promptly redeemed) $107.50 in cards!

Thanks also to Brandon Telg, who donated over 600 cards from the early years of Redemption, for $159.50 in credit!

Lastly, thanks to Scott Stamp, the first to donate (6) starter decks for the reimbursement of sealed deck tournament fees!

With these donations, another milestone has been reached: over 15,000 cards have been donated to The Storehouse!

FoOF = Release in August, no buy
September = First Month, limited buy
October = Second Month, unlimited buy

Correct?

Post by: The Schaef on July 26, 2007, 03:49:08 PM
Actually, since the main release of FoOF doesn't seem like it's going to happen until the end of August, that means the limited buy will likely take effect on Oct. 1, and the unlimited buy on Nov. 1

Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: The Schaef on July 26, 2007, 04:28:30 PM
I think the limit will be something like three tins.

Whatever cards you want to donate, I'll make room, don't worry about that.  I hope you're not doing it for fear that you'll run out of credit.  Even with the orders you've placed, you've got like $600 of credit, if not more (it's not in front of me).  You will probably be able to buy at a discount until the end of time.

Cam - there are no restrictions on the cards I will accept.  I used to give no credit for Lost Souls, but now I give a nickel like unlimited, prophets and starters, so I can have LS to sell in prefab decks and give out for Booster Draft (you'd be surprised how many people forget to pack LS for this category).  But considering you get a nickel, and your max discount is 40%, don't expect to get much for your limiteds.

I have a few questions...

2. Do they have to be organized in any way? or can I just give them to you in stacks of commons/uncommons?
Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: DaClock on July 26, 2007, 04:31:40 PM
I wouldn't do it just for credit, obviously that'd be stupid. It's actually more of a personal vendetta I have against my collection. I have tons of priest cards, but there are still some I don't have. There are also a bunch of cards I don't have from other sets, so I think it'd be easier to start over and go for complete sets.

I mean, I don't trade cards for product, straight up.  You get a discount when shopping on my website, and whatever you save comes out of your credit.  So like, if you give me $40 worth of cards, you could buy $100 worth of product, take a $40 discount, and pay $60.  Or if you had $100 worth of credit, you could buy $150 worth of product, take a $60 discount, pay $90, and you would have $40 left over ($100 earned minus $60 redeemed) for future orders.

The Schaef, what do you store them in?  and, how many do you think you have ? (cards)

I have collected nearly 18,000 cards in the last year or so, and given out about 3,000, so I have some 15,000 cards in The Storehouse at present.  I store them in those long card boxes, of which I have about a dozen, and I have a separate plastic box for the rares and Warriors.

Spreadsheets make it easy to catalog the cards once they are sorted, but the sorting process still must be done by hand.  There's no way around that.

You know what, I screwed up.  For whatever reason, I was looking at Roc's credit when I responded to you.

You soaked up all your credit with that purchase.  Please deposit ten cents for an additional three minutes.

Well, for the moment, Priests get full trade credit, even for (un)commons.  Once FoOF is released, however, they will be reduced to the normal ten cents, and FoOF cards will be worth full credit.  So there's a good chance it will be worth more than that.

I can probably still send you some stuff.  There probably won't be anything rare or "higher" but there are lots of powerful commons to choose from.  I also recommend finding a booster draft tournament in your area soon.  Not only would you get 10 great cards, but you can draft a bunch of cards to add to your collection.  That's always a great way to add cards.

They're not going anywhere right away, but of all the sets, the Patriarchs are the closest to running out.  It might happen before next year's Nationals.

You would think it would be Apostles since that came after Warriors, but they printed a BUNCH of Apostles, so I expect they will be around a while.

Actually, there's a shoebox here missing the tag I put on it.  But it DID say on the top about how many cards there were.  If that's yours, send me a PM telling me what you wrote on the shoebox.

Credit does not apply until one month following the general release of the cards.  If they release by the end of the month, that means starting October 1.

Since I don't have the investment capital to keep a lot of stock here with me, I haven't set up a system to take pre-orders at this time, even for the people paying regular price.  The tins will most likely be available at launch same as everyone else.

Was anyone playing him on RTS during that time too?

I'll bet you won't be able to do this on Saturday afternoons very soon, especially when OSU plays that blue and gold team.

But yes, my Saturdays will soon become less... available.

The Storehouse was founded for the purpose of allowing long-time players to donate their unused collection of cards to be sold or donated to new players or those with smaller collections.
Oh yeah, that's me, only 50 cards to my name

Post by: DaClock on August 21, 2007, 05:01:48 PM
I've given quite a few cards to the storehouse. Also, White Knight, having 10,000 cards in your collection is a waste of space unless you're a retailer. You probably play with less than 70 cards per T1 category, and less than 150 per T2 category, meaning if you play all 4 open categories at a tournament, at most you'd need 480 cards. Obviously it's harder because you open boosters and get 1-2 cards you can use and 8-9 that don't help, but if you're smart about building your collection it can be small and extremely powerful.
Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: The Schaef on August 21, 2007, 05:28:42 PM
If you have one of every card ever printed, your collection would top out at less than 2,500 cards.  Having two sets (one to collect, one to play) means no more than 5,000 cards.

That was the case with me.  Except for "Hulk" Lost Souls, all my cards beyond my second set went to The Storehouse.

That's why you want them so much? Weird.

I collect the one with the guy sitting down with the pigs. It made me think of the movie "Dragonheart" when Dennis Quaid was blackmailing the village of pigherders. The leader gives Quaid the bag of money and says, "We can lose no more pigs."

That's what hits my mind every time I have to surrender a 'pigs' Lost Soul: "I can lose no more pigs!"

After counting an insane amount of cards, and having returned from a business trip, I have finally counted the last of the donations.  Ben Arp contributed an additional 2969 cards, adding $655.10 to his total amount of credit!

That brings the total number of cards donated to the Storehouse to over 27,000!  That is nothing short of amazing!  Thank you all!

Apologies to Brad Coverdale, who left some cards with me the weekend of Midwest Regionals, and has been very patient with me as I thanked him for his donation, and left the cards sitting there, uncounted for a month.

Brad donated 287 cards, adding $165.70 worth of credit to his total.

Schaef,

What is the best way to send you a bunch of cards?  I got around 2000ish cards I would like to donate, but not sure of the best way (cheapest  ;D) to get them there and do I just use the address from the storehouse website???

Can you PM me and let me know???

I just signed up a few days for a nexus user id, so at least I can let know know which account is donating the cards.

Thanks,
Chris

Probably just dump them into a large mailing envelope.  The padded kind are about a dollar, and depending on your location it would probably be six or eight bucks to ship USPS.  Other than happening to be at a tournament where I also happen to be, I'm afraid I can't do much better.  Orders over $50 get free shipping anyway, so while it may seem like I'm hurting you on the shipping, I basically give the money back the first time I fill an order.  :)

Title: Re: The Storehouse

Into big old boxes.  I have donated about 4,000 cards so far to various playgroups that have been starting up around the country, and given away many to the kids in my own group.  Basically, kids who want to get into the game but don't have a lot of disposable income to buy like 50 packs of cards.

I am also looking for other ways to resell the cards, like building all-commons decks for n00bs and selling them cheap.

I have a few kids in the area that are playing the game with each other with the E/F/G/H decks but agien have vary little money and I don't have the cards to keep them going for much longer and they are starting to get board with the decks so I have started getting together with them one at a time and showing them what some of the cards they have can do (one of them had a DoN and wasn't using it) and then if they really like a card I help them build a deck around it wether that means giving up a few cards of mine to help them. Just the other day I helped one of them build a conversion deck, but by doing this over and over I'm starting to run my coloection raged if you have a better way of doing this please PM with the details do that I can help them a little more.

Quick update:

I'd been holding onto these until I got all my cataloging done but some people have been waiting a while on these.  I'll post Steve's and Jordan's as soon as I can.

Rod Stewart, despite his best efforts, managed to get some value out of the 400+ cards he donated: $23.25, to be exact.

Jonathan Greeson donated over 1050 cards with a value of $260.40.

Brad Coverdale contributed an additional 1300+ cards worth $422.25!

Chris Mallett has donated over 3500 cards valued at $559.90!

Thank you all again for your generosity!

Is this program still in operation? I mailed a small package of cards (about fifty Warriors cards with a Wrath of Satan tossed in) more than two months ago and haven't heard anything back. I don't mind waiting another two months if that's how long it takes to process, but I'd like to know if I should expect to hear back on them or if the cards are strictly a donation now. I tried emailing the creator of this topic a few weeks ago, but never got a response, so I'm not sure who to contact, hence why I'm posting my question here.

Thanks for any info anybody can give me!

Meantime, I've discovered I have a couple items I need to tag with an owner.

The first item is a couple of starter deck boxes.  If you gave these to me (I think at KY state), PM me and tell me the contents of those boxes (so I know who you are).

The second item is a pair of Redemption tins.  If you gave these to me (same location), PM me and tell me what kind of tins they were and the special marking on one of them.

This question is for anyone who has used storehouse credit before...I tried PMing Shaef a few days ago but haven't heard back yet, so I'm asking here.

Anyway, I have credit now, but have no idea how to use it on New Beginning Games. I'd like to order a few Redemption Starters to see if any of my ESL students would be interested in playing, and so I've got my order filled out but can't figure out how to apply the 40% discount. My assumption is that I need a gift certificate\promotional code, but I never received one...

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Not yet but you're on the short list now.  All cards from all contributors are sorted, and I am now counting the contributions from smallest to largest.

Speaking of which, Josh Kopp's contribution amounted to 361 cards valued at $57.75!

Incidentally, this puts us over 50,000 donated cards, not even counting the three largest contributors from Nationals week.

all the information is on the first post and here: http://www.redemptionnexus.com/info/the-storehouse

I have a new order to place to utilize some of my Storehouse Credit. Do I need a new discount code or do I use the previous one.

Please advise how to proceed.

Update:

Discount credit is now only 30% off my posted price.  Total discount off retail is still over 35%, but it's my turn to tighten my belt in this economy.

well.... i have about 400+ cards i would be willing to donate. my question is can i just use all of my credit at one time and lets say buy about 75 dollars off of the storehouse with all of the 400 which would be worth 100 dollars instead of doing a discount? also would i have to pay for my own shipping?

Adam
Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: The Schaef on April 28, 2009, 02:50:25 PM
You can use the credit in any amount you wish, the only restriction is that 30% is the maximum discount.

So if you donate 400 cards, and let's say they're worth $100.  If you bought $75 worth of product, you would get a discount of $22.50, and you'd have $77.50 left to spend.  If you wanted to spend the whole hundred, you could buy $333 worth of stuff and take a $100 discount.
Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: adamfincher on April 28, 2009, 04:03:49 PM
oh i meant like lets say using 100 dollars credit to buy like 10 dollars worth of stuff.
Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: The Schaef on April 28, 2009, 06:54:30 PM
You only get three bucks off.  30% is the maximum discount.  I can't give the stuff away, unfortunately.

With orders of $50 or more.

And keep in mind, this discount is 30% off my price, which is already 10% off retail.  The actual total discount off retail would be 37%.

Why is nobody answering my question?  :dunno:
Because the way the only person who can give you a definitive answer is Schaef.  Basically, you tell him how big your playgroup is, and why you need the cards.  You give him your address where you want them sent.  And then he sends you cards.

At least it worked basically like that a couple years ago :)

Title: Re: The Storehouse

I'll bet this has been asked before, but do I have to sort out the cards I'm sending, or do the people receiving it do that for me? Because I have like an entire shoe box full of random cards that I'm sure I'll never use or trade away, and it would be convenient for me to just be able to tape it up and ship it off.
Title: Re: The Storehouse

If I remember correctly, sorting wasn't 100% required, but...   Come on, Schaef has a lot of cards to sort and process.  Sort it :)

Schaef, are you going to Nats?  If you are, can I bring cards there and donate without having to ship?

Thanks,

This is a question for any who knows.  Say I spend right at $50 to get free shipping.  If I use the 30% discount that The Schaef lets us use to take it down to $35 is there shipping again since it is not $50, or because I got to $50 the is still no shipping cost.  Just wanting to know for future purchases.  Thanks!
Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: BubbleBoy on August 03, 2009, 10:28:01 PM
I would think the tax and shipping costs are the same no matter what, and don't calculate into the discount. Makes sense if you think about it.
Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: The Schaef on August 18, 2009, 09:52:09 AM
The *final* cost of your product must be at least $50.

If an average order costs $10 to ship, and you order $30 (original) worth of product, the combined savings of the site discount and the Storehouse credit basically covers the cost of shipping (sale price just under $20).  So if you order at least $30 worth of cards, even if you pay for shipping, you're saving money.  If you order $80 (original) worth of product, you're only paying $50 (sale price) AND the shipping is free.  That's value.

Title: Re: The Storehouse
Post by: The Schaef on September 23, 2009, 04:47:38 PM
I sort by type, by brigade, then alphabetically.  So any sorting you do, prioritize in that order from greatest to least.  In other words, I can alphabetize if the same colors are together, and I can separate by color if the same types are together, so start with type, then box them up when you get bored and I'll do the rest.

I have a package that I am sending when I have time. I sorted them first by value (i.e. I put the Rares/UR/Promos/etc. together, then the 10 cent cards, then the five cent cards). Then I sorted them by type, then brigade, then expansion (I believe) then alphabetically.

Right now it's in my room. It's quite hefty, so I have to wait until I'm motivated enough to take it to the post office. Hopefully this weekend.

Chris Fachman's contribution has been calculated.

In addition to the 950 cards originally sent, a second contribution of 1170 cards was made, bringing the total contribution to 2,120 cards.  After the purchase made using the accumulated credit, his remaining credit is $100.90.

Thank you all for your patience during an (inexcusably long) transition period.  The calculation of the package sent by Jeremy Volk is forthcoming.

Not one to rest on the laurels of a 5000-card contribution, Steve Kamke has provided another 745 cards with a total value of $123.45.

Which is amazing, really, because I've got the same combination on my luggage.

Schaef, If you have cards available for playgroups I have a new( 4 month old) playgroup starting.  Currently there are 6 kids in the group.  I have given them all starters but I would use more starters for others that could play.  Plus I could use any commons/uncommons that could help build general decks or theme decks.

I can't speak for Schaef, but I am fairly certain he wouldn't be able to give anyone cash for Storehouse cards. He gives the Storehouse cards away, and receives nothing in return (except gratitude, I'm sure) and thus there would be no way to fund giving away cash. But you should definitely check out his store site here (http://www.newbeginninggames.com). You might find something you'd like.

1) Can you cash out? For instance if I had $100 worth of credit could i ask for it in cash?

2) Can i use my credit to fully buy a product? For instance, if I had $100 worth of credit could i buy something that was $50 and not pay anything and just reduce my credit by $50?

If these are possible i would really like to know thank you.

I'm not sure if Schaef is still running this or not.  It's been a long time since I remember him saying anything about it here on the forum.

I think I remember that LordZardeck was starting some sort of program where people would donate cards to him and then he would use them to create complete decks to give to new playgroups.

The third option would be to simply donate them to a playgroup leader like SomeKittens, myself, or others, and I'm sure that they'd be able to distribute them among their players.

I want them to go to good use, but I'm not sure I'm ready to 'give em away.'  :-\  If I'm going to do that I'll just search harder for people to give em to in my area so that I don't have to pay for shipping.

I'm not exactly a rich man in redemption terms (or monetary terms for that matter :P ) and I was hoping to expand my collection at a discount via the storehouse's 30% off ANB games thing.

Wow, saying that out loud made me sound like a penny pinching scrooge. :-[

How about trying to be a good steward of God's money!   :)  By the way, we all know exactly where you are coming from in that regard!

Ditto.  I'll give cards away, but I'm not blessed enough financially (yet!) to pay for shipping.

I don't know whether this is still going on, either. For anyone who is interested in donating cards for discounted prices OR any playgroup leader who is interested in receiving free cards for your group, please email me at Ken@ThreeLionsGaming.com. Let me know which category you fall in, and I will explain what I can make available. :)

Thanks!
Ken

Hey there,

What would you say the average amount of credit is if I donated around 150+ common cards? :D

Yes and no. I originally started with the plan to make complete decks, but now that seems illogical since I'd have to spend lots of time designing different decks. Instead, to make compatible with the Academy's course, i'm making supplementary "sets". Cards to help a new player extend and create new decks from the starter decks. That way I can write the course based on the starter decks, and it doesn't matter what cards I get, the instructions stay the same. This is going to take some time however, as I'm still in the process of getting the course written.

Is this still going on?

Schaef left the message boards several months ago, and even before then this hadn't been active for some time. So I would presume not.

I know that Ken4Christ was making some offers in The Schaef absence, but I don't know if he was still doing that or not.  I was actually thinking today about starting up something very similar to this since Schaef has left us.  What were you interested in and I might be able to help!

I am getting ready to sell my collection, and I have 1,752 commons/uncommons.  I wanted to find how much they could be donated for and sell them for 60-75% of that amount, so I get some decent money from otherwise "useless" cards and the buyer would still benefit by getting a decent little return on their "investment" by way of discounts toward more Redemption product.

Well there is no way I would buy any cards at this moment considering the collection you are trying to sell is tiny compared to what I'm trying to unload.   :)  But, if you don't sell the cards in the near future and I get something like this started, we can probably work out something.

I can't offer quite as good of a discount as The Storehouse, but my plan is to coordinate people with extra cards and playgroups who can use them. I will offer a 20% 'rebate' on any booster packs, starter decks, tins, or single cards on Three Lions Gaming using the credit from the value of cards someone sends to interested playgroups.

To anyone interested in donating: You can email me at Ken@ThreeLionsGaming.com to let me know you are interested in donating cards. It's helpful if you can give me an idea about what sets the cards are from, rarity, etc, but I don't need too much information. I will then email you back with the address of a playgroup, and you will be responsible for shipping the cards to the group. After they have tallied the value, I will email you to let you know what it is. For example, if you send me cards that are valued at $100 based on current Three Lions Gaming prices, you could purchase up to $100 in cards and receive a 20% rebate on those cards (up to $20). You would place your order like normal on Three Lions Gaming, and I will refund 20% of the purchase price when your order is sent. You can store up credit as long as you would like and use all or some of it at any time for any cards we have in-stock. Unused credit is carried over to your next purchase. If we do not have a card, pack, starter deck, or tin in stock, it is not eligible for this offer. Credit may be given away if both the giver and receiver email Ken@ThreeLionsGaming.com to let us know it needs to be transferred.

To any playgroups interested in receiving donations: All I would ask of you and your playgroup is that you email me at Ken@ThreeLionsGaming.com to let me know what type of cards you'd prefer to receive and if there is anything that you do not want. I will email you when I have a donation available to make sure you are still interested. If you accept the donation, you are responsible for adding the total value of the donation based on current Three Lions Gaming prices and reporting back to me within 3 weeks of when you receive the cards. Aside from that, the cards are yours to use for your playgroup!

If you have any questions, you are welcome to email me, PM me, or post here. :) I am doing it so that cards can get to people who can use them, and potentially increase sales at Three Lions Gaming.

God bless,
Ken

Thanks for doing this Ken!  I'm really glad to see this program back up and running again :)

P.S. I miss Schaef.
