Women's Errors

So I would think this is the proper place to ask this but if not, just yell and me and move it!   ;D

So I have seen/been told conflicting stories about how many of these exist.  I saw on a trade thread that there could be upwards of 300 of these sets rolling around, but I was told by someone that they thought only 5 complete sets existed.  I was just curious if someone knew closer to what the right/real number was.  I'm some what of a collector so this kind of pecks my interest, if someone knew.

Thanks!

I've seen at least five DIFFERENT sets at least roll through the market over the past six years. The 300 estimates sounds more correct.

The only severely limited promos I know of are the Angel White brigade errors. There are definitely more than 5 sets of Womens errors.

In fact, MKC has 5 sets of them all by himself...  :o    ;)

300 sets is an accurate guess. Booster boxes were advanced for the Origins Game Convention. When discovered, the printer was notified and the production stopped until fixed. Because I was there, I traded for around 30 sets myself. One interesting note, all WotB uncut sheets contain the error! Sorry, I forget how many of those exist.

There may have been 300 printed error sets total, but the number of cards that are actually around anymore is more up in the air.

The amount of available errors is why I am not willing to pay more than $15 for each of them.  (I prefer to snag them for $10...that is what they are worth to me.)  I think $25 is really high price for them with so many available.

A handful of those sets are in the Cactus collection. After they released players could turn in the unplayable ones to Cactus for playable replacements. Some players did.  :) I am guessing some have been lost/destroyed. It was close to 20 years ago. I am curious how many still exist. I know I don't have any. I sold them long ago.

I have also come across a few fakes. Someone has taken the time to erase the numbers. The only way I could tell is by looking at the card at an angle and seeing the gloss rubbed off where the numbers used to be. Pretty sad that someone would try to fake that but I have seen it with my own two eyes. As for sets, I have at one point had 6 sets of the Women's errors myself (currently only have four).

I bought one of Doug's sets a while ago when he was selling them, and got another set off of someone else in trade, I got rid of a lot of my valuable cards about 8 years ago, and have building up again since.  I currently one have one women's error card, not a full set.

I have 2 of the 4.  I'm willing to pay for the last 2 if the price is right.

I'm glad (and yet also saddened) by what Travis shared.  I never thought I would have to check for forgeries.
