I didn't know ANY friends of Chandler (until I posted this) which is why I worded my topic title the way I did. I understand you are optimistic Mark, but saying it will "eventually" get resolved is not comforting to two people who lost a fair amount of money.

Since you are not in Cpt. Jaeger's or my shoes, you can afford the luxury of being okay or forgiving of a "slow sender."  I don't think people should be "slow senders."  I gave 3 weeks (which is slow) after I was told by PM that the cards were in the mail.  I lost more confidence that Cpt. Jaeger had been waiting longer, and Chandler is barely on the boards.

FWIW, I am forgiving.  If it is resolved (by resolved I get the money back or cards), then I will delete this thread.

Well, I'm pretty forgiving and understand the likelihood that I will not get my money back. Things like this happen. They may be wrong, but I can't let that get me worked up. However, I do not think Chandler should be allowed to play in a tourney until he has righted this. That much I do know. I'll keep you posted on my paypal claim as well.

I know its been a few weeks, but sometimes people are just really slow sending stuff.

If you are a "slow sender", then you need to tell us openly before you trade/sell on the boards. Experienced traders and buyers should not have to wait more than a week for cards. I expect people to send their cards within a couple of days, unless other arrangements have been agreed upon. New traders should expect to have to send their cards first, but they should be notified immediately when cards arrive and when return cards are sent.

Yes yes yes, i am very new to the boards, and i have traded 5+ times so far, and the other person has asked me to send my cards first. I completely understand where they come from now that something tragic like this has happened. Hoperfully I can eventually earn my name on that "list" :)

There really isn't any good reason to be a slow sender at all, regardless of circumstances. As understanding as people on here can be about being a week late or something like that, I believe that when someone sends their portion of a trade, you're obligated to send yours as well. Earlier this summer I forgot about a trade and left to go to the summer camp I worked for, and as such, about 1/5 of my trade was unsent for 3 weeks longer than it should have been, something I still feel guilty about. I'm not making excuses, I'm not saying it was okay- I was irresponsible and am only thankful that the other person in the trade was very gracious. As harsh as it seems, it's starting to sound like CJStormtrooper blatantly ripped off two people for rather large sums, which is very unfortunate, and I would encourage everyone - trading vet or not - to use a bit more caution from here on out, especially when dealing with people with a small amount of trades under their belts.

I strongly encourage young traders to pursue trading on the boards as much as possible if you think you will be around for awhile. Putting in the time to develop relationships with traders, develop a good trading reputation, and showing others you are accountable is worth a few trades that you may not necessarily have needed to do. In addition, if you see someone that needs a couple cards that you have to spare, consider simply being generous. A show of generosity certainly gives others a reason to trust you aren't on here to rip someone off. On that same note though, generosity is not an excuse or legitimization to rip someone off later.

My thoughts ::)

The event in mid-Sept is a district tour. If he shows up,we will give him grief. Side note to Chronic: I'm still enjoying the cards. How's the 360?

Update- I received my refund from paypal. He never even responded to the paypal claim, so they automatically recovered my money after 10 days

I told him (in person) to send the cards weeks ago.

He had some living arrangement problems and ended up having to move out of one house and into another, but that was still a week or more later than the trades were made. He should have just send them immediately, but because he waited he now doesn't have access to the cards at the moment.

Thanks for the help and update.  Would you advise me to continue to wait or to try and get the same cards through other trades?  Does he still hope to send the cards or would he prefer to send the money back?  What is your advice of what I should do?  Again thanks for the help Lawfuldog.

No problems with it at all. I haven't gotten a chance to use it much yet, but I will once I get a new ethernet cable.
