Hi everyone! I'm new to the board because I asked a Redemption player on BoardGameGeek where I should go to sell my promotional Redemption cards. I have these two and also an A and B starter decks.

Caleb $10 (Settler's of Canaan Promotional card)
Joshua $10(Settler's of Canaan Promotional card)

If you buy both, I'll throw in the A & B decks for free. Also, since I am new to the board, I won't require payment until after you receive the cards. You can just send me a check or PayPal me, whatever is most convenient for you.

PM sent...

So why not try playing? The newer cards are so much more advanced than the A/B decks you have and the game has been around since 1996 which gives it a good track record of growth and player loyalty. Just a thought...

I have tried playing with the A & B decks and while it was pretty good, it didn't really grab me. I wouldn't mind trying a game with the newer decks but I don't see any reason to hang on to these.

Tell you what, whether or not I end up buying these from you, I will send you a couple of the new starter decks so you can see if you like them! At least that way you can see how the game has grown from the A/B to the E/F and G/H decks...

I totally agree with Uthminister.  I played Redemption back with the A&B decks and disliked it so much that it sat on a shelf for 10 years.  Then I rediscovered the game about 3 years ago, and it is now extremely fun to play.  Give it a try, and I think you'll be impressed.

My story, too. The game has gotten much, much better since the beginning.

What changed between then and now that makes it so much more fun?

What changed between then and now that makes it so much more fun?
Back then almost all heroes were just 4/4 and had no special abilities.  Evil characters were almost all 6/6 and had no special abilities.  And most good and evil enhancements were 2/2 with no special abilities.  All the lost souls lacked special abilities.  There were no artifacts, covenants, curses, sites or fortresses.  A typical battle began with a 4/4 GC attacking, a 6/6 EC defending, and both players putting down 2/2 enhs from hand until they ran out, and whoever was higher killing the other.

Now there are a variety of sizes of characters (good and evil) from 1/1 all the way to 12/12, and a lot of them have interesting special abilities that do an incredibly diverse range of things.  There are a ton of ways to win battles besides being bigger (discard, capture, convert, remove, shuffle, ignore, immune, return to hand/territory, etc.).  There are a Lost Souls that protect themselves from being rescued, sites that protect LSs from being rescued.  There are artifacts/covenants/curses and fortresses that add more layers to what is happening during a turn.

There are weapon-class enhs that stick with characters.  There are going to be (in 2 months) territory-class enhs that stick in play.  There is also the whole "rock, paper, scissors" mechanic with "immune", "negate", and "cannot be negated".  This adds another level of strategy to the game.  The list goes on and on.  It is just an incredibly more interesting and fun game now.
