I just had a question. Are all of the promos available for tournament hosts to provide as the card you get when you pay the entry fee to the tournament? Like, for locals, Samson would be a nice promo card to get, but I have seen a tournament host sheet and don't remember it being on the list as an available local promo.

I don't think all the promos are avaible-just what cactus sends to the host. I have noticed that some of the 2010 tours I went to,I got a '09 promo. It all depends on what the host has to offer. Hope this helps.

The tournament application includes a list of available promos for Local and District levels. As a host, I can only check one of those boxes. Samson is on the list, but I would not choose that one when there are newer, more useful promos that more players would want. Ultimately, the host chooses which promo they want sent.
Check with your host to see if they have other promos that they are willing to offer individually. The newer promos are usually easier to trade, so if one of my players would rather have a Samson, I would give them a Samson from my personal collection and put the new promo into my collection (as a swap). Not every host has enough promos to do this, so ask first.
