Which is the better Redemption hero?
-
MMoJ is so pro
-
Both use TGT. MMoJ bands. Hullo winner.
-
King Amazing should've beaten John, so definitely MMoJ.
-
I'll be that guy.
-
If MMoJ can beat Daniel, she is clearly better than John, whose ability is a weaker form of Daniel's, and John's only advantage over Daniel is shared by MMoJ.
As much as I dislike her, MMoJ should win this.
-
MMoJ is so pro sacky
FTFY
-
If I had a dime for every time you said that word in the past couple of weeks, I'd have about tree fiddy.
I would have voted Amaziah over MMoJ, but since the best Purple Hero didn't get out of his brigade it's no contest.
-
:amen:
This is no contest, Amazing was better than John, and Daniel (who MMoJ beat) does what John does better.
The only advantage that John has over MMoJ is that he has AoCp access, but honestly who actually plays AoCp on John?
-
Me.
-
When? There are a ton of other character who can play AoCp more efficiently than John.
-

Because sacky hero is sacky. There, you're 2 dimes richer.

The efficiency and consistency comes from AoCP itself, not so much the character using it.

This. AOCP is AOCP. If I have John to make a rescue with and AOCP in hand, guess what i'm going to do.
-
Thats why John is so good against the meta defense, he completely destroys it. KoT is the only thing that has a chance to stand up to him, and even then he's just going to have AoCP/MLaMG/Passover Hymn dropped on him.
-
Look if I have AoCp in hand I'm more likely to go in with ET, Matthew, or Lydia than John. The only exception would be if KoT is out, so that I can still play reach beforehand without it being negated.
-
So you're basing your argument on whether you can interrupt/d3 before the AoCP? Thats more of a personal preference than anything and takes away no value from AoCP. Lydia also can't play AoCP off an interrupt. ::)
-
I'm not demoting the value of AoCp but for me I usually play it on different characters. If you all play AoCp on John frequently I guess I'm wrong.
-
It would be unwise to play AOCP off of ET. If your opponent has an EC in hand it takes away the free soul aspect of it.
-
MMoJ is without a doubt the strongest part of a TGT offense in T2. Her CBN band won me souls more often than He is Risen (the best enhancement in the game) when I used Silver-TGT exclusively last year. I'm not sure how much has changed this year, but considering Disciples are a lot weaker, MMoJ wins it for me.

And no one plays ET anymore because no one plays down EC's anymore either.

Against TGT they do, unless they plan on IOJ or DS to stop it.
-
ET is still used for Great Faith + Reach.
At least in T2 8)

AoCp off of ET remains one of the best plays in the game, especially in T2.
-
yeah or I could go in with James the less, wait until you block, and destroy your defense while also getting a guaranteed soul instead of just killing the defense you have out and not getting the auto win.

You sure about this? Everyone is using protect forts and it's difficult to get by DD/CWD. Even then, 90% of people are playing with Assyrians and are smart enough to not set down a lot of characters in fear of PoJ.
It's good when it works, but so was COMBO COMBO COMBO COMBO CONGO, and that was one of the worst strategies in the game.

James the lesser + MLaMG + AOCP got me most of my souls at the t2 only than even more than Thaddeus surprisingly (also led to plenty of walk ins from the Garden Girls and John). ET + AOCP was pretty decent for me. Not as solid as James the lesser though. But I'm a terrible player so I might be wrong. Shutting down weapons and negating assyrians survivors was nice. Add in crown of thorns for the survivors as well. ET AOCP was nice to take out magicians w/ charms. Triple Captured ark was enough for the CWD's usually. Luckily I didn't run into any Naz. MMOJ has got this though.
-
Gloria in Excelsis Deo does a tough enough job at shutting down weapons it seems like though, especially because there are two solid ways to recur it and you can have two copies now. I used KOTW in my deck to protect my dude with Charms (and it also helps vs TGT and CTB), but I'm not sure if anyone else ever does that. I don't think I saw a single copy of Captured Ark, and I only saw one copy of Naz.
Dunno. This is just from my limited experience vs ET in t2. He's only really hurt me with Reach before. CWD is pretty easy to kill with Two Bears, but that's about it. I don't know how many people were using DD. I was using it as tech vs SWJ, but I think I'll probably take it considering I only have one of each unique hero except for like Isaiah, Seraph with Live Coal, and AUTO.

I love Gloria in Excelsis Deo especially with Gabriel. Only problem with it compared to Passover Hymn is with Gloria you must discard x which includes your own weapons if it come to that since it doesn't say up too x. But I really never use assyrians w/ TGT. The added negation of human evil character is amazing though. Lifting the curse is great for CWD as well. And it is usually easy to get out before CWD (with Lilies to pull it). First turn CWD's can be annoying though. Especially with an early Nazareth.

How many N.T. angels do you plan on having in play? Usually it's only Gabriel.

TSA

Naw Attending angel, Gabriel, TSA. Attending Angel is so nice. I have no idea why I didn't use it last year. Angel of Warning was also one I used a bit last year. Though generally I go Gabriel, TSA, Attending Angel x 2. Searching with Attending Angel for another HIR, recurring Lilies/Gloria with Gabe, or negating with TSA. Angel of Warning was nice for pulling Herod's Temple/TGT. Mid-late game I generally have 2-3 in play.
