A CBN, every turn draw that let's you play a CBN battle winner (which is even better in T2 when you can do it 4 times), plus she gets initiative to play other mean nasty enhancements.  Woman should definitely win.

Goliath is a beast, but he rarely survives to do anything significant.  He scares me none, every deck I have ever seen or made can deal with a new character being added, and they all have battle-winners he can't stop (he doesn't get to play first with that size).

Woman > Goliath for sure.

Goliath + withdraw LS FTW.

Woman is nice but she needs specific support to be good, Goliath on turn 1-2 is an auto-block.  He can also kick tail after WoS has been dropped.  Not to mention he negates banding, which is super helpful in today's meta.

Except that most of the useful banding is CBN/CBI (which is also why 12FG is nigh useless).

Goliath is good cause he needs nothing to use is ability, unlike Woman who needs Tower of Thebez out. My vote to Goliath.

Goliath is better only because he negates banding other wise with his high numbers, he isn't that great

As pointed out, you can't stop CBN banding (which is most of it).  And again, how many cards are there in every single offense to kill him or otherwise defeat him?  And he can't stop them or play WoS (I chuckle at the idea of him playing anything that doesn't interrupt/negate) with his size.  Woman on the other hand has a battle-winner that is CBN even without the Tower, has small numbers to play it and every other enhancement that Black has, and just gets better with Tower.

Really, the same people who are complaining that she needs Tower to draw are the ones who worship 2kHorses, when it's the same thing (and fortresses are hardier).

And by the by, she can negate banding herself while in Tower then come out and block CBN :)

Goliath can do more than negate banding, he negates CBN banding (at least, the first CBN band that enters battle).  The ability to kick all heroes out, including those CBN banded in, and then in addition negate banding/drawing/playing CBN, is ridiculous.  If you play him right, you can continually make your opponent use their second best option on offense instead of their best.  And he can be recurred by both an EC and a fortress.  His glaring weakness is that Phillies have no in-theme CBI/CBN band (to get around Sam's Edict/etc.) and he gets murdered by Ahimelek, a popular hero in today's meta.

You seem to think that the 'second-best' option in any meta deck is bad, when in fact they can still use the same enhancements.  You mean I can draw with XYZ CBN abilities over here, you're going to kick them out, then let me go in again to do something else cool and I get initiative to kill you with my CBN enhancements?  Awesome :D

I've never made a deck that is afraid of Goliath.  Every deck that is not straight angels is afraid of Woman, and even angels are afraid of the rest of Black (besides Stone).

Hasty Generalization.  I don't worship 2kH, I worship Manny who can use 2kH or zillion other things, 2kH is just one of those zillion things.

Also, my vote for Goliath is for his splash-ability.

Like I said, I defy you to find me a top-tier offense that doesn't have something else to enter battle without a battle winner to back it up.

He's about as spashy as a water.  You need something to direct him and back him up or he just ends up being a (very) minor nuisance at best.

Woman needs stone to be worth while and Goliath needs the withdraw lost soul to be worth while.   The difference is that Woman is barely good without stone (or another enhancement) whereas Goliath has the potential to be pretty good without an enhancement (or the withdraw soul).

Stone, Hunger, WoS, JiP, Trickery, Pride of Simon (just off the top of my head).  Rather have the initiative to play any of those.

If you're basing the entire argument on a single LS being protected (and I mean one card, not one per block) and the fact that I just have the opportunity to kill you again then your argument holds little water.  There's no meta offense that will not laugh at him.

When you say that you can bring back Goliath with a fortress (I assume that you mean Philistine outpost) and P Armorbearer, you cannot bring back either EC with P. Outpost because it says it brings back GENERIC philistines only. Recurrence of Goliath can only happen once.

Armorbearer is generic.
