#1 in purple should be interesting. Amazing definitely has a shot at it. It'll be tough to beat John though…

I am a type 2 player so I will go out on a limb here and say Simon the Zealot is better.

Simon is terrible. He's just a waste in virtually every theme he could be usable in.

I love Simon, his protection comes in extremely handy in almost every game and you only have to make one battle challenge to activate it.

And with the most common defense being standalone, which has exactly 2 characters with lower numbers in it, one killing itself and the other banding to KOT 99% of the time, that does not concern me much.

What about Sabbath Breaker and AM Slave?

you mean the soul gen cards that's sole purpose in a deck is to capture themselves?

Well thats not it's only purpose. It generates a lost soul and fetches another evil character or can play haman's plot.

Breaker would be a poor block against a battle challenge.

Slave can also = Gomer = minus.

fetches another EC, that is usually big. I'm not saying he's bulletproof, not everybody can be Gideon, but he's one of the better initiate guys in the Disciples offense since he has a lower end defense, protects from mayhem, confusion, etc. adds a +1 to James/Thad can play purple or red enhancements, is immune to romans (i think, i use that part so little I can't even remember) and can be used with boat.

He actually has really bad initiative because of his first strike but that's okay. My favorite part about him though is that he stops the best artifact in the game. Amaziah, on the other hand, is pretty much a one hit wonder.

Simon and Ehud suffer so much from their First Strike. However, even without that handicap King Amazing would be better. Pre-block CTB is the best ability in the game, and purple Amaziah combines that with possible soul gen and a better guarantee of winning with CTB (normal CTB can be stopped by Grapes, having an Enhancement in the selected Brigade and Writ/Charms, which won't work if you choose Joash and bring in Ahimelek).
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

King Amazing has much more than a once per game CtB ability.

Does the 'every time' of Abigail net you a free lost soul 99% of the time?
