March Madness Silent Ballot

Guardian did it last year, so I thought I'd start it this year. We all know AUTO is great, but I'm sure we don't all think he's the best. PM me who you think is the best hero in the game and I'll post the results in a week or two.

So, yeah, this didn't really catch on like it did last year. Anyway, here are the rather lame results.

Samuel: 1
TSA: 1
Broseph: 2
Daniel: 1
Prof Oak: 3
Thaddeus: 1
Asahel: 1
Isaiah: 1
Assyrian Siege, Army (converted): 1
Paladin the Fighter: 1
The Generous Widow: 1
Moses: 1
Job: 1

Bumping now that it's been swallowed by April Fools stuff.

So far only one character has more than one vote. After 10ish votes.

Yep, sounds like this will be WAY more comprehensive than the actual voting :)

It's a different type of competition. It's a chance for TGW to get a voice when she went down early.

So...what you're saying is that it's a chance for a character you prefer?  Excellent.

The whole point of March Madness is that the entire forum votes on the characters.  It's a popularity contest and and evaluation of the cards themselves.  Not everyone is going to agree with you.

Plus it means nothing in the end anyway, not sure why everyone is all upset about it  ::)

No, I'm saying it's not entirely based on matchups. For example, let's suppose 10 people thought TGW was the best character in the game, but if TGW is pitted against Samuel, most people are going to vote Samuel. TGW gets bumped out of the competition. In this silent ballot, those 10 people would vote for TGW, and maybe 3 vote for Samuel because the other 50 like AUTO or TSA or Isaiah or Susanna better. Again, it's an entirely different type of competition. Instead of pitting individual characters against each other time and time again, it pits them all against each other. Another example. Let's suppose Moses beats Samuel, AUTO beats Moses, Samuel beats AUTO. Samuel goes against Moses first, and Moses wins, giving AUTO the win. Had Samuel faced AUTO first, AUTO would have been out and Moses would have won.

I agree it means nothing, but I found last year's results interesting and thought I'd repeat it.

Then why not have one giant vote where every hero is listed and see who gets the most votes?  That's basically what you're talking about here, isn't it?

That sounds like a lot more work on the part of one of the Globals who would have to make the poll.

More work than creating 2 person polls again and again in a series of rounds?  I doubt it. But I do understand that, at its core, they were trying to mirror the NCAA tournament.

The 2 person polls are more fun and are entirely different, as explained above.

Why did someone vote for a converted ASA?  his ability doesn't even work if he's converted.

Agreed.  Whenever an ASA is converted and someone asks "DUDE NOW HE'S AN AWESOME HERO WHY YOU DO THAT?!  :o", the best response is "Because I actually read the card :)"

Although I understand the confusion.  It is "one of those cards" that has wording you don't see as much ("while blocking").

You forgot a comma in my vote's name. I won't post who that is because this is a secret ballot and I don't want people knowing who I voted for.
