You don't see people saying Herod Agrippa is the bees-knees just because he can set up a couple of cool combos.

I totally say that, though I still agree TAS is far better.

I'm somehow supposed to believe an EC from an inferior defense is better than one found in a superior defense?
Not sure if thick or willfully ignoring what I'm saying...

The defense which features Manasseh is superior to the meta defense. The meta defense is used in speed decks and the Manasseh one in balanced decks. Speed decks are superior to balanced decks. I believe I already said, in so many words, that the meta defense is a bad defense that's used in a great deck, while Manasseh's defense is a great defense used in an inferior deck. I believe I also said, again in so many words, that the voting has nothing to do with how good the defenses are, but with how much better Speed is than non-speed.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I see, so the reason meta decks are so great are because they use terrible defenses. Yes, that makes perfect sense, thanks for the heads-up. ::)

My reason is that when I used Kings of Judah for my defense Manny was only helpful for the banding part of his ability. I never used his other ability cause I didn't want to waste two evil characters that didn't even generate souls. I am against speed cause I prefer Balanced over it, but still TAS is much better and actually gives you something for trashing it. First another soul to rescue and second the ability to get a better EC out of your deck.

How could getting an auto-block be a waste of characters?  My favorite part about Manny is his return ability, not the banding, a lot of times I discard TAS to use the ability, like when I'm up against an annoying negate special abilities character.  In the meta I've been used to TAS is tough to use and Manny is easy to use.
