Uzzah is vastly superior to ASA in T1: He has access to the best evil enhancement in the game, with the initiative to play it, he has an auto-block, and he can be splashed into pretty much any defense. Now ASA is better in T2 since Assyrians are top-tier there, but all of Uzzah's T1 attributes remain intact in T1, ASA just gains a major power boost. My vote goes to Uzzah.

How is ASA versatile? He only works with another Assyrian out and needs Horses to play anything. Uzzah is a block in every deck with artifacts.

ASA makes it nearly impossible for people to successfully pilot decks that largely depend on a certain Artifact, Site or Fortress. Uzzah is just a nuisance that is good for one (maybe 2 if you're lucky) blocks in a game.  And that's assuming your opponent doesn't attack with one of a zillion heroes that negate him.

Uzzah is an auto block. ASA needs another Assyrian to do anything. I vote Uzzah.

When I see Uzzah, I think great they took out their own evil character plus Artifact.  I'm scared to see ASA and instead of having a card to counter Arts, and another to counter Forts, and another to counter sites, I can just use him.

I suppose Uzzah is better if you don't want your defense to last long but if your trying to actually stop their deck then ASA is better.

This is bad logic. The only deck that will make a significant impact in the meta that relies on a specific artifact or fortress to do well is TGT, and that can survive without it. Sam, Disciples, Genesis, Gardensciples, etc. all thrive without one specific artifact or fort.

I think this actually sums it up well.  For players who use little defense and are just stalling while trying to get to 5LSs first, Uzzah is the better option.  He requires very little set up (either an artifact or Haman's Plot), and almost always gets 1 block.  When playing a speed offense, that one block is all you need to get the upper hand and win the game.

However, for players who actually use a lot of defense and actually try to shut down an opponent's offense, ASA is the better option.  He can take out opponent's fortresses, artifacts, and sites CBN.  He's big enough to win battles just by numbers (ie. if opponent is attacking with Hur, just to draw cards).

In the end, Uzzah will get more blocks this year, but that's because he will be used in 80% of people's decks, and will get 1 block per game.  Meanwhile ASA will be in 5% of people's decks and probably still only get 1 or 2 blocks per game (due to being an AotL magnet).

Neb (who should have beaten ASA) vs Uzzah would have actually been an interesting match-up. This one is just not even a contest, imo.

Uzzah for all the reasons people have already stated.

we all knew he would beat ASA, people are more inclined to vote for a card they actually use.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

I don't think many people thought Uzzah would lose this, especially after Manny got knocked out.

One's a staple, the other's not.

Uzzah. no contest.

Simimarly to everyone else I'm voting with the meta here, Uzzah.  He's the most reliable auto-block in the game, and no matter how much damage I do to the opponent I just can't bring myself to vote against that.

Consider my ASA vote just as much anti-Uzzah as pro-ASA.  Since Uzzah has this won, what does this demonstrate about the current state of the game?  Practically everyone is still splashing in the "auto-block" instead of actually playing a substantial defense (my apologies to any solid brown defense players).  If, after all these expansions, these broken "meta defense" characters are still the "best", I for one am not encouraged, as I'm not a fan of "auto" anything.  Even against FBTN, because he was printed in brown, he still plays another broken card (again in my opinion), Haman's Plot.

I short I was just hoping against hope that we had gotten past this stuff by now.  Just stating an opinion from the minority.

Uzzah's win is not necessarily indicative of the current state of the game, since even those playing substantial use Uzzah, because there is just no reason not to. Uzzah is broken, and is the best EC in the game, whether you play real defense or not.
